Aiden Qiu effectively exposes the cognitive lag in mutual perceptions, proving that our cultural friction is often fueled by outdated data rather than inherent malice. It is a necessary deconstruction of the "othering" process that prioritizes human connection over political noise.

talking about Biden, >> the Democratic Party, Biden, the king of LGBTQ >> social credit score. We only have a credit reporting system focused on in >> It's funny because how Chinese people see American or like the America like 40 years ago.
>> Yeah.
>> How Americans see Chinese like tough >> which is like American old version is nice but old version of China was bad.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Like >> previously I went on the street to interview Chinese people about what they think about ordinary American people.
The answers were really shocking.
So this time I invited an American friend to read comments from Chinese nizen about what they think about American people. So how would the answers be different between Chinese people in person and online? We're about to find out.
>> Hey guys, welcome to another episode. So today I have my lovely friend Dante here.
>> Hey everyone, Dante Munoz here. Uh, I do Western and Chinese social media and I've always been curious what both audiences think about each other.
>> So today we're going to read some comments from Dante's post and also I found out some about what Chinese people think about American and what Chinese people want to say to the Americans. So let's started with number one. So first one is from R2D2. Welcome to China.
Welcome to China to travel. And a lot of people ask you did you get fat?
That's like 10 comments.
>> Wait, really?
>> Ask you, "Did you get fat?"
>> Chinese people are always asking people if you're fat. They're very direct about gaining weight.
>> And then some people say, "Oh, I like you without a beard." And uh, "Oh, you look you start looking East Asian now."
>> Oh, like old Chinese beards, like the pointy ones.
>> Anyway, it's just a little fun play in the beginning. Now, let's officially started.
>> Okay.
>> This is a lovely picture with Donald Trump. I mean, that's literally what he looks like to me.
>> Next one. Oo, talk about Biden.
>> The Democratic Party. Biden, the king of LGBTQ. The lord of unlimited gender.
>> The lord of unlimited gender.
>> A wararmonger and a strong contender for the noble.
>> I think these comments deserve more like >> accurate. Like just 10 out of 10. This is we're going to bomb everybody. And they just say it. You know, it's like one of them they try to be all soft and likable and like oh we care about your feelings. It >> remind me of a saying in Chinese we have saying which means if you are in the game you can't see what's going on in the game but people outside the game can see what's happening. All right move on next one. Oo that's a long one. So more than 10 years ago during my middle school years I visited US and was made by the ordinary Americans homes. Large house separate laundry rooms modern kitchen dishwashers. I mean I grew up with a household we we don't have this in China but when I went to America I was amazed by that too.
>> If there is a chance ordinary Americans should definitely come to China and see it for themselves. Even if they visited China 5 or 10 years ago the changes today are completely different.
Additionally all Americans have the right to study Marxism. That is a a sharp left turn but okay. Okay.
>> Americans are richer. The richer they are more selfish and self-centered by you.
>> Oh my god. Those who can seize things by force will never You guys are so revolutionary.
Ordinary Americans are kind, brave, and full of love. A Chinese people are real.
Chinese people are so nice and patient with Americans. Like whenever I've been anywhere in China, I tell them that I'm American. I'm like, "Oh, they're going to hate me. We just did this. We just put tariffs on them. Ooh." And they're always like, "Oh, you're American. Come in. Come have tea. Come eat barbecue with me." I'm like, "You don't hate me?"
Chinese people see it very separately.
like the they know is the government and other people are different two different things.
>> This is a real comment.
>> Yeah, let's go through uh just >> oh the social credit score. We only have a credit reporting system focused on individual financial behavior.
>> That's true.
>> For example, if someone owes money to a bank and fails to repay it, they may be placed on a list of defaulters and restricted from high level consumption.
This is completely different from the credit scoring system in the United States. The credit score, the f the social credit score, financial credit score thing in China is about people committing fraud. People trying to get rich quick. Maybe they already have some money. They're scamming everyday people and they're the ones getting put on the list and restrained from going to karaoke or first class tickets.
>> I think we do have one score in China.
It's like on your Alip pay is is is linked to like >> the sesame score.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Sesame score. And it's linked to two things. One is when you're doing secondhand trading, we have an app called Cienu. Like for example, if you sell try to sell an iPhone, if you have really low credit score, you can see it.
Like we buying from each other, you can see that [ __ ] If it's really good, all right, bad.
>> It's like a seller review for selling secondhand products.
>> Like like Facebook market, let go stuff.
>> See, that's a good thing. And then your media, Americans, report on this like it's a bad thing. Oh, the government is controlling its people. It's making sure they're not selling fraudulent secondhand iPhones and scamming their neighbors. How oppressive. Oh my god.
>> And when you ride those like share bikes, if you don't return the bikes, if you dump in the river, it markers not return.
>> Your social credit score, you get eliminated minus 100,000 social credit score.
>> So, how many credit score we get from this video?
>> I'm going to get 10 million. So, if you get like a power bank for your phone, >> yeah, you don't have to pay deposit. You don't have to pay a deposit if you've done that before a lot and they know that you're going to give it back. And also, there are vending machines in China that are just a refrigerator. You just open the door and you take out your drink and then close the door >> with a face scan.
>> With a face scan because they know you're not going to steal the whole refrigerator. That's all it's for.
>> Oh, yeah. If you have a high score, uh, you can actually receive the product first and pay after on top and all all the shopping platforms.
>> Wait, really?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Oh, so you can try it on and send it back if you don't like it.
>> Pay for it.
>> Yeah, man. I'm telling you.
>> China, like I think China has a lot of innovative unique systems to it.
>> Yeah, we got some English comments here.
>> I think many ordinary Americans lack certain understanding of the outside world. When Chinese people encounter institutional injustice, we would fiercely resist, even willing to sacrifice for revolution to change the status quo. This is a complicated topic.
Chinese people know the root of the power is like everyday people. Um, one thing I'll say that really surprised me about China, I would ask a lot of everyday Chinese people like, "Oh, what do you think about politics or what do you think about XYZ situation?" And they're like, "Politics is a politician's job. My job is a tailor."
>> I think in China, they like really let the political people handle that.
>> We trust the government.
>> They do. Americans >> Americans do not understand that Chinese people trust their government. Uh, hey there. I've been lucky enough to travel to many countries, including the US.
American people I met there are nice and friendly.
>> Agree. Southern people.
>> Southern people are the best. As a Southerner, really happy to have chances to share a few words through your channel. China welcomes everyone who values peace, loves life, and believes in friendship. That was so positive.
That's beautiful.
>> As someone been to the US, live in the US for 4 years myself, I agree what she says. That was a good one. Next one.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Wow.
>> I don't have any particular impression of Americans. The group they tend to dislike the most is Japanese people.
>> Uh I feel like Chinese people who've been to Japan really like Japan, but Chinese people who never been to Japan or like only inspired by the movies.
>> Hey Japan.
>> But I've seen it for myself when I've gone to Japan. Like the museums, they whitewash World War II history.
>> It's really [ __ ] up and it's tragic.
It's not fair. And I think Chinese people just have to be the bigger person here. That's the only way forward. You know what what's crazy? A lot of Americans travel to Japan for anime stuff. China loves anime. Like there's a huge market here that people just don't know about yet.
>> So this one is talk about what Chinese people think about ABC. I did some interviews with ABCs in the past. A lot of ABC struggle.
>> Speaking English for a long time actually changes the contours of your facial.
>> Everyone say this.
>> I've heard this before. Is it true?
Chinese people, y'all have a little bit of of wives tales. I think you know like >> I had the same uh comments from people.
>> Wow.
>> Because when I came back to visit relatives they do things like oh look at you drinking all these like white milks, western milks and change you. I felt like I just become more outgoing. I was outgoing but makes me extra outgoing being living in America.
>> M I think the body language is totally different. Americans are like open and maybe relaxed with the body language >> cuz you guys got a lot of lens, a lot of space here. In China, we we freed if you do like this, you got to smack somebody.
>> Yeah. So, I think we're we're like, "Wow, you look different." But it might just be like you're leaning around like an American more or you know, someone ask a scientist about this. I'm curious.
>> All right, next one. Typical ABC. Tan skin, tone arms, small eyes. What? like very heavy eyeliner, thick smile, very niche white piece.
>> Prominent Adam's apple. What? Really?
Prominent Adam's apple.
>> I would say a lot of American born Chinese like the people this comment is talking about. It's talking about like the baddies. Mean girl vibe, unbothered, you know, >> maybe a bit judgmental. You guys know what I'm talking about. But it's not all of American born.
>> Maybe get it from the TV TV shows, reality shows.
>> Wow, this one is bit long. M. True.
>> I have not been to the United States yet, but some of my relatives have studied there for several years. I used to see it as a powerful, highly developed, wealthy country that represented the future. May wars end soon. And I also hope that those neo-Nazi forces who promote war will go to hell soon.
>> Gosh, >> things are kind of changing now.
>> It's funny because how Chinese people see American are like the America like 40 years ago.
>> Yeah.
>> How Americans see Chinese like China was like 1960.
>> Yeah. Like both countries have an outdated view of each other. Like Americans are like, "Oh man, in China they don't even have enough food to eat." And then you come here and you just get fat immediately. Like there's just so people are like putting food in your mouth. There's so >> which is like American old version is nice but old version of China was bad.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Like like Chinese people that's why they love their country so much and they support their government overall is because >> getting better. It's literally happened in their lifetime. Huge leaps and bounds forward. Like there are cities that didn't have a metro system and now they have like one of the most advanced in the world and it's the cheapest and it's clean and beautiful and safe and they grew up in a place that wasn't clean and beautiful and safe. It was a struggle.
That >> was a good one. Next one talk about the capitalist. The American people should be in control of their own destiny.
>> In China, the government controls the capital. If you come here, you see that like actually I can can I get a little political?
>> Yeah.
>> This is the BBC reporting on business in China, the private sector. And they were doing interviews with the people in the company and showing that even the Communist Party had meetings and like organizations within the big private firms. No one will say China's like a perfect system. They never have corruption. They never have any problems. No.
>> But they sent some really rich powerful people to prison. And that just does not happen in the United States at all. M getting political.
>> Are the voters who supported Donald Trump back then regretting their decision now?
>> Are you a Trump voter?
>> No.
>> China is very neutral country.
>> China is very neutral.
>> Chinese people probably going to not going to vote at all. So I bet like most Chinese would think just like not going to vote.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, this one is pretty popular. 37 likes.
>> Okay. Oh my god. This is what I'm talking about. Chinese people write essays. You can edit this.
>> Make it shorter. I'll read it quickly.
The only thing you can learn from reading your own comments on Western social media is how dumb you look or how gay you sound. Like that's all people will tell you.
>> Speaking of gay, no one ever comment under your video talk about the LGBTQ thing. No one ever in China.
>> Oh, everyone in the US, my videos has have nothing to do with LGBTQ anything.
And in the US, everyone is like, "Wow, look at this gay. Wow, gay gay gay gay."
No one even say the word under your videos.
>> Yeah, that's how it's been. When I meet people, no one cares. People are chill.
They're nice. They see what you're doing, who you are, like your work, and that's how you get judged, not based on like personal things.
>> So, last part would be what Chinese people want to ask and what to say to Americans.
>> Wait, this isn't American.
>> Yeah.
>> So, like this pose is I found it from a random post like what Chinese people feel about America. And there's a lot of Americans answered this question.
>> China is not an immigrant country.
Sorry. You got to like work here or invest here. You got >> marry someone from here.
>> Marry someone from here.
>> Well, here are some positive comments about America.
>> I will also say China is like extremely safe for women. A lot of women I know um said that walking around alone at night in China like at 2:00 a.m. I'm in the city was the first time they realized like oh I don't have to have my guard up. I don't have to worry like >> one thing that when I travel abroad cuz in China I can just call someone on the phone. I can like scrolling on my phone when I'm like in the subway or somewhere like anywhere in public. But when I'm travel abroad I never do that.
>> Right. You want to see the next one?
>> Yeah. very polite and well-mannered.
Sorry and thank you are used all the time. If someone is walking in front of you, they will hold the door open for you or directly open it for you to pass.
That does not happen in China. Yeah.
Yeah. I think Americans are really nice people. And also in China, it's not that people aren't nice, but they just kind of like expect you to deal. They'll cut you off when you're when you're driving or riding a bicycle or whatever. And when you're getting off the subway, people like shove. They really >> true.
>> They push you a little. They kind of just expect you to deal with it. They're like, "Yeah, I got to get on. You got to get off. Let's go. We're going to do this. This is a huge city. It's too crowded. We all know it. Let's do this thing." Um, that's the vibe I get from Chinese people. It's not that they're trying to be rude, especially the older generations. They've had they've gone through a lot of real [ __ ] and it's been really crowded and they've had to wait in crazy lines for things, you know, throughout their lives, you know. Okay, here comes the questions what Chinese people want to ask Americans.
>> I just want to know what channels ordinary Americans actually use to learn about us. Also, from what we see in the news, is it true that many ordinary people in the United States lack access to basic standard level education?
>> So, the translation of the troublemaker in the world is actually the GBD translated very nice way. And in real Chinese, it's like uh it's like a [ __ ] pot. is stirring up the [ __ ] pots and Donald Trump is the the >> So what channels are ordinary people in the United States learning about China from? There are no major channels that discuss China openly and objectively or positively at all. So there are people like me like we're trying but I wouldn't say anyone has become like so popular in the west yet. Um, and there is definitely not an organization that has been able like in no media organization, no channel, no, hey, I'm trying. He's trying to show people just the daily life. I'm trying to show people some of the like systems and history. Important.
We got to understand each other.
>> You deserve a follow button right here.
>> Ah, yes. Follow me. There's a follow button somewhere.
>> Let's do uh two two three more.
>> This is a good one. Don't smoke weed.
Control your spending and take care of the elderly. Chinese people do take care of the elderly people.
>> I love seeing how the elderly people are treated here. I do some volunteer work and so I've seen a lot of like how everyday people live um in New York City and there are a lot of elderly people who just don't even leave their house very much at all because they can't. In China, I see gangs of elderly people on the metro with their friends shouting and laughing, playing cards and singing and dancing.
>> Dancing.
>> That's a big one. I like the cost of living is so low here and then like Chinese people like to social a lot.
Imagine being elder people this like you're not isolating.
>> Another thing in China the cities are so easy to get around. Escalators everywhere, elevators everywhere and like ramps and and lanes for wheelchairs everywhere. You see any given day um people riding their electric wheelchairs through the street.
>> Anyway, Dante, I feel like you are the perfect guest for this interview.
>> Ah, thank you. So, uh, couldn't think of anyone else.
>> No way. Thank you. What an honor.
>> Yeah.
>> Everyone who's found me from my channels, follow my friend Aan here. He does really, really cool interviews with all kinds of people. If you want to get like a firsthand look at China, he's the guy.
>> Thanks so much. I will leave Dante's Instagram, email, YouTube, Tik Tok, Billy Billy, everything.
>> Thank you, my friend.
>> Description.
>> Perfect.
>> Thank you so much, Dante.
>> Yeah, man.
>> That was a good video.
>> Oh, yeah. Wait, let's do it right. Let's do it right.
>> Okay. Hey, thanks for watching. I would like to do a reverse question. So, what do you think about Chinese people? Let me know in the comments. I will soon travel to Europe and I would like to interview people what they think about Chinese people and China. So, any advice would be appreciated. All right, I'll see you in the next video.
