Successful horror film remakes often flip or reinterpret original elements rather than directly copying them. The reviewer notes that Obsession (remake of Night of the Living Dead) changes character roles, such as making Barbara more modern and flipping the brother-sister dynamic. The original title 'Night of the Living Dead' was changed to 'Obsession' to distinguish it from the original and avoid the baggage of the original's controversial elements. The reviewer argues that remakes should acknowledge their source material while offering something new, rather than attempting to eclipse the original.

And Mike Krueger.
>> Welcome to primetime, [ __ ] So, we are live tonight and before we get into our horror films and horror news of the evening, I do believe we have an announcement or two. Or three.

All [snorts] right, it's the Rigor Mortis Maniac himself, Carnage, will be at You've Got a Death Curse.
Krueger, of course, no stranger to Carnage. A lot of light like to light each other on fire.
Carnage is an absolute psychopath and he's going to make it rain that crimson liquid at You've Got a Death Curse.
All right, and the first Oh, well, I'll just I'll I'll let you Dan. Go ahead.
And here we go.
All right. So, our first entrant in the Scream Queen Championship tournament to crown the first ever Scream Queen champion, we have the beautiful and deadly Chrissy Reavis.

Yeah, and we'll have more talent, match stipulations, matches, and all that good stuff in the coming weeks leading up to the event.
Hell yeah. I'm very excited for this.
I'm very excited. You did a great job on the artwork, and I can't wait to make some more announcements. Uh but yes, once again, you've got a Death Curse.
Get your tickets now.
fleshwoundfeatures.com.
And uh yeah.
You said Jed some news bits for us this week.
I do have some news bits for you all uh which Okay, so this I thought was uh kind of cool, and it's not a confirmation by the studio yet, but it might be a good sign.
Uh so, actor Albee Williams, who plays uh Spike in the uh uh Bone Temple, and he is He made an Instagram post and posted, "It's great to be back." And he had his uh bow and arrow uh image from the movie.
So, some people are thinking maybe we're going to get the next movie, the final chapter in the uh 28 Days Later saga.
Uh that was in doubt because that movie did not do well. I think every I think all of us loved Bone Temple, but unfortunately, people didn't go out to the theaters. So, this is this is a at least a positive positive development. I hope that means that that Alfie got the call and things are back on track cuz I love that last movie.
Um yeah.
You guys excited for more? I mean, obviously, I assume. Yeah, I mean, it I I've liked basically every entry into the franchise. So, I'm and I I like this new story and the new world, the extra classes of zombies, like the berserkers and [ __ ] like that. Like Samson, he he's the star of the [ __ ] you know, this past couple of movies.
So, I'm more excited >> No, no, no, no, Krueger.
Samson's Johnson is the star.
>> Well, I would I mean, maybe for you because that's what you like [ __ ] looking at, but for me, uh just him in general, that character, I'm interested to see what he's going to do after cuz at the end of Bone Temple, uh you know, now he's able to like communicate and is basically reverting back to human. So, I'm I'm I'm excited to see what that's going to entail and where they're going to finally like end the whole series.
Yeah, I agree. It would be a crime not to finish it off at the how we left off in Bone Temple.
Uh you know, we got three [ __ ] strangers pieces of crap over the last year.
>> [laughter] >> Give us the goddamn conclusion to Bone Temple. Yeah, I'm [ __ ] I still haven't watched those last two Stranger movies.
Don't.
>> You waiting for that super cut where they're all one movie together?
>> [ __ ] no, I'm not. You think I'm going to watch that [ __ ] Uh [ __ ] no.
Like she got [ __ ] me in the ass three times. Goddamn, four times. No, me once, dude. I said, "I don't like the way that feels. I'm out."
>> [laughter] >> There you go. They're using the whole fist this time.
Uh so, uh another interesting bit of news, July 24th, we're getting a theatrical release for Pinocchio Unstrung. I'm [ __ ] psyched as [ __ ] about that movie, too. And and I bet you're psyched because you saw the casting cuz Robert Englund as Break Robert Englund as Cricket and Richard Brake as Geppetto. Yep. Uh that's like a match made in heaven, dude.
Yeah, uh I was going to say it's been a minute since I've seen Robert Englund in anything theatrical. So, yeah, July 24th, the next uh the next entry in the in the Pooh-niverse.
Yeah, I'm I'm pretty psyched, man.
Pooh-niverse has been fun so far for me.
Uh even though I still haven't watched a Bambi movie. Oh, no.
I remember that screening very well. I saw that with Bugs. I got bad news that day that was very annoying. But it honestly changed the way it gave birth to Flesh Wound Features.
The wrestling side.
Oh, yes, yes.
Yeah, okay. I remember what you're talking about. Yeah, no, that's I'm I'm kind of curious now cuz I believe this is the last one before Monsters Assemble, the versus movie where everything comes together. I'm not sure. I think this is the last one before they're doing that.
I believe so.
>> So, Unless we got Isn't there Isn't there one more Isn't the next Blood and Honey before that?
Uh I don't think so, no.
>> I thought it I thought they're they're doing three then that, but okay.
I'm pretty sure we're all rumbling and and uh JG, that is actually true. Pete The Peter Pan Never Lands Nightmare, Tinkerbell is a uh meth addict.
Absolutely.
>> [laughter] >> That's the most disturbing. Yeah, that one's [ __ ] up as [ __ ] dude. That was Yeah, that was very good.
>> [laughter] >> Uh and this is great news. Well, it's not necessarily great news. We'll see, but Twilight of the Dead uh is going to be starring Kate Beckinsale, and this is the final chapter in George Romero's zombie saga. Now, my understanding is it it it's the first four Romero Dead movies. I think it ignores Diary and Survival, uh from what I understand. And it's going to be starring Kate Beckinsale, who's replacing Milla Jovovich, who at one point was attached to this, I believe.
And yeah, timeline of the first four movies. Now, apparently George Romero wrote a treatment uh right before he died, so I mean, how much of this is going to really be Romero, who knows, but let's not forget >> AI George Romero is the director.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, maybe.
>> It'd probably be better than most uh >> [laughter] >> modern directors. Modern directors. I want the AI Christian Bale just to like yell at people on set.
Like, if you're going to do it, you got to do it right. Like, I want AI Christian Bale to just break [ __ ] But, yeah, no, I mean, we'll see. I mean, Romero did direct Diary, and let's be honest, Diary was not very good, so I'm hopeful. I I I hope if this is going to be sort of the the last official and theatrical, which I'm I'm assuming it's theatrical with Kate Beckinsale.
Let's go out with a bang for George. I I hope it comes out okay.
And uh yeah.
My last uh this is not really so much news so much as a question. If If any of you guys out there in the chat or or either of you watched Widow's Bay on Apple's Apple Plus? It's a TV series.
No. No, but I've been watching Margo has money problems.
Margo has money problems. I've not even heard of that. That's the one with Nick Offerman as the ex-WWE Mick Foley style WWF wrestler who moves in >> Oh, okay. pregnant daughter who's doing OnlyFans and yeah.
Wait, what? Yeah. He like learned like like he he learned to bump and stuff to to do the part and everything. So.
But yeah. That's And oh, and it's all it's all takes place in in Orange County in Fullerton.
So.
Oh, okay. Okay. So, nice. I I I will try and check that out. I don't have Apple Plus, but some of their stuff I noticed they do release on physical.
So. The studio is really was a really good show that they did. The the one with uh Seth Rogen about movies, you know, movie studio boss.
>> try those that M. Night Shyamalan show?
What the [ __ ] is it called? Uh [ __ ] I can't remember off the top of my head, but that was like a big thing for the Apple. I see now then I probably haven't.
>> Exclusive [ __ ] Yeah. Cuz yeah, um I do have another non-horror bit.
And that is today got announced that The Further Adventures of Cliff Booth, which releases in December on Net- on Netflix, will get a 2-week uh IMAX release of The Further Adventures of Cliff Booth or whatever the actual final title will be uh a month before in November.
So.
You will be able to see it theatrically.
Sweet. Sweet. We're going to need uh Cliff.
If you're watching this, like we're going to need you to like come on. You don't You can just be an avatar. You don't have to reveal your secret identity. We all know it's Brad Pitt and you need to review your movie we insist upon this but I'm hoping I'd love to see that in an old-school theater I'd love to do it and I don't know if that's going to time out for me anywhere but I I I would really love to see that uh and yeah I don't think I have any other news anything else before we get into the movies tonight gentlemen no other than did you guys in the Discord I posted the poster for Ice Cream Man so that's going to come out August 4th how nice so that's that's pretty [ __ ] soon I'm kind of I'm kind of hyped for it >> [snorts] >> we'll cover it on >> no no Clint Howard though oh I'm it's okay Clint Howard's old yeah maybe he'll pop up in it again who knows eternal >> yeah he'll probably have a [ __ ] cameo and it didn't do anything >> can you not I was going to say can you not see Eli Roth doing that I totally can maybe that's the ending it's like a a parody of the Fast and the Furious thing with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel they just pull up beside each other they just play the lame music and they just say >> booking sucks my fantasy booking is amazing amazing all right so he's like Vince Russo we're McMahon we have to bring him back to reality and keep it ah more it's more like Pat Patterson >> [laughter] >> Todd I've just proven [snorts] my point Todd >> yeah but he's got he's got Violent J instead of Vince to keep him in line now I yes >> cuz Russo on his own is a lot you saw TNA [laughter] SEX you saw the new blood I just I just love those characters basically Rob Black.
Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> Nobody can play Rob Black but Rob Black.
But >> This is true. He's trying to be Rob [laughter] Black.
If he comes out with his own movie, then we'll >> [laughter] >> Can you imagine the authority battle between Vince Russo and Rob Black? No, I can imagine the fist fight that would happen.
>> [laughter] >> All right, let's get into the first movie of the evening, which is the talk of the horror community. And that is Obsession from writer-director Curry Parker. And in this film, after breaking the mysterious One Wish Willow to win his crushes heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for, but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister I would I would like the [snorts] hot tag first here, sir, cuz >> Hot tag, Krueger. So, if you had you you had a hot >> Holy [ __ ] this movie is so relatable.
So [ __ ] relate Dude, no, like me and Ben Grimm were just talking about this and like literally two scenes in this movie 100% have [ __ ] happened to me. The [ __ ] dinner scene and then the scene where she doesn't want him to leave the bed. SHE JUST YEAH, STAY!
PLUS THE [ __ ] pouty face [ __ ] all of that [ __ ] is 100% happened to me in real [ __ ] life. So, this movie was relatable as [ __ ] um but also just good. I I I I thought I By the look of the trailer and watching Milk uh Milk and Cereal uh I think last year it came out. Uh I was excited to see this guy like actually get his first feature-length movie.
Um but I was not expecting instant classic. This [ __ ] movie is awesome.
Uh it First off, just got to say the acting and the performances some of the best acting I've seen in a really [ __ ] long time.
Uh uh Indeed, uh Navarrete, is that what her last name is? Uh the Yeah. Yeah, [ __ ] Nikki, she is absolutely amazing. Just the amount of range that she shows in that character and the way she snaps at like the [ __ ] drop of a dime uh in and out of whatever the [ __ ] is going on with her. It's just awesome. She uh portrays crazy so [ __ ] well and I mean, I'm never that guy, but I think that girl's going to be a [ __ ] star, man. If she can stick around the horror genre, too, I really, really want to see what else she can [ __ ] do cuz she was awesome.
Uh but also uh Michael Johnston as Bear was pretty stellar, too. Like he conveyed some really awesome conflicting emotions and I I I I I liked his character. I really felt for him, but then there's certain, you know, aspects to his character where he kind of gets what he gets, but regardless, the just the going on the ride with him was [ __ ] awesome. I mean, uh and the story's just such a it's simple concept, but it's executed so well. It keeps you invested the whole time just wondering where the [ __ ] things are going to go.
Um this isn't a gore fest, but there's a few scenes involving self-harm that I definitely made me [ __ ] cringe. And the brick scene, that can that [ __ ] is like one of the kills of the year. That was just [ __ ] brutal as [ __ ] badass. Also practically done, so props there.
Uh We got to get this crazy [ __ ] in the Scream Queen tournament.
>> Yeah. Yeah, she's Yeah, she's [laughter] [ __ ] awesome, dude. Uh but yeah, I love this [ __ ] movie. I think it's a masterpiece. My favorite movie I've seen all year.
Instant classic, man. I agree with this, though.
Daily Ghost, he's not lonely, I don't think. He's quite picky actually. Yeah, I do think yeah.
Cuz yeah, he should have picked the other one. Oh, for sure.
Yeah, definitely should have picked the other one. I think uh, Sarah was uh, more made for him.
But uh, Yeah, so Milk and Cereal made a lot of noise. That's the movie on YouTube. I think 2 years ago, but I don't remember the exact timeline. Uh, that that made That was made for basically nothing, got a ton of attention, and uh, he he's obviously moving on to bigger things.
He's already got the Texas Chainsaw gig, and uh, looks like Curry Barker's here to stay cuz this movie's making tons of money. Uh, I'll I'll start off I'll start off. Sorry, you want to go?
>> 23 million dollar Sorry, 20 23 20 Wait.
What's the budget?
The budget is 750 thousand >> Okay. Thank you. And the gross is we're up to 31 million.
Yeah, so this is making a ton of [ __ ] money. It's making more than a lot of big budget stuff when it comes to profit. So, which I love seeing that cuz I I always say it, you don't need a ton of money to make a great horror movie for for the most part. Uh, so I'll start by saying this, the concept's nothing new. Uh, in fact, not even just in movies. I mean, love witch and all of that. Uh, I mean, there was the Buffy episode uh, from season 5, Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered. There was a Tales from the Crypt episode with Andrew McCarthy. I want to say from season 3, called Love to Death. Like, this is a very familiar premise. Uh, nothing wrong with that cuz he absolutely nails it.
Uh, we we all like psycho [ __ ] movies.
Although, I don't know if I can really call this a uh, psycho [ __ ] movie. It's really more of a kind of sort of possession movie. Uh Indy Nabarrete is fantastic. I think you're going to be seeing a lot from her.
There were moments where like I said the anxiety was hitting. I've I've had dealings certainly with some crazy girls. Uh not to this extreme obviously, but it it gave me a little bit of PTSD flashbacks as well. And I know that's that's something that seems to be common in in the discord. I know a lot of people talking about that. Uh I think I I might have had I think there would have been a little bit more fun to be had for a little bit >> [laughter] >> before the the the beast was fully unleashed.
Uh I think like I don't know. Let's just say I think I think this guy would be doing a whole lot of butt stuff at the beginning.
>> Well, I mean he's technically already taken the vagina. So I mean she doesn't give up consent. So it's 100% non-consensual. I'm guessing I meant consensual. But I'm [clears throat] sticking with consensual from now [laughter] on.
I I'm guessing that that's where the fighting that JG was talking about is coming from. I have been uh we've been putting in flooring here. So I I I'm really behind on news. So I'm kind I I know this movie's being received >> getting butt hurt because of the lack of consent in a horror movie? Shut the [ __ ] up.
Well, I No, people are people are getting in the arguments over like who the villain is and who isn't.
I mean he's obviously the villain. Yeah, no [ __ ] How is it the debate? Because because people like to [ __ ] argue and people also feed into that drama. It gets them views.
Yeah, no. Lot of drama.
>> Our our our argument gets us less views cuz it's all good.
>> [laughter] >> [ __ ] up the pushback. Well well >> gets kicked us out of the algorithm.
Well, as much as much as as many jokes as we [ __ ] make, like you just said right there who the [ __ ] villain is.
It's pretty much the more uh liberal [ __ ] answer.
>> Well, I mean he it's a weird one with this character though because you can't really assume that him making like >> No, but there's a there's a there's a point that there's a there's a point in the movie where he [ __ ] turns uh 100% for me.
Oh, yeah. Well, I I think he was almost like, well, I did this. Now I got to lie in my bed. So, I don't I don't know if I'd go full-on villain.
>> He was He was He was He was loving that [ __ ] at the beginning.
I I almost think they should have had a little bit more where it's just like Kumbaya and But that was the But I see I think that wouldn't that would have [ __ ] like hurt it because I think what made it so compelling was how off she was. Like and those little moments where you know, whatever the [ __ ] was possessing her was coming out more than the human uh sur- charade that she was trying to [ __ ] play.
Mhm. Yeah, I I think just the first moment when she's just staring in the background. Yeah. It like sets the tone for what we're getting. And then like the the stuff that comes out with like the friend and why it it's just >> Oh, yeah. That's Well, I I saw that coming a mile away. But like why like yeah, it meant it puts everything together so yeah, I don't know. It's just something about it that like works and I think adding that of like lulling you into a sense of this is going to be okay would have been pointless and just yeah, time waster.
It needs to just go and like this is what's happening.
You know what? I remake this with orc and Riley Reed.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, I don't even know what the [ __ ] culture war means JJ.
You don't know what culture war means? I don't I don't know what it You don't like politics Todd, so I won't get No, I I will they're [ __ ] pointless and useless.
It's all I mean they mean nothing.
>> Yeah, JJ it's a good [ __ ] horror movie. Just go god damn watch it.
Yeah, you'll like it JJ. You'll like this one. Culture war If it were me, I feel like the first thing that would happen is she would like find like all my tube sites and just start bumping off porn stars.
Like that'd be like the first thing.
Like You wa You watched Riley Reid 137 times this month.
And that'd be the break for her.
But uh Yeah, I don't know. This movie's fun.
You know what my wish would be? horror movie of the year.
I'm not quite there yet. But it is a lot of fun and it's anxiety inducing. Like if you've ever you know, had to sleep next to somebody that you were not entirely safe around. [laughter] Like that's that's pretty rough.
So, I I I think it works. I'm glad people are embracing it.
I I'm really curious what Curry Barker does with Texas Chainsaw Massacre cuz I still don't I don't see that movie in my head. And that's not to say he's not a good director. It's just like I can't I don't know. I can't quite envision what he's going to do with >> he's done enough to like he doesn't necessarily like have a style per se yet. So, like I I I don't think he's done enough for us to even know.
Which in my opinion makes it even more [ __ ] exciting.
He's a capable director who's able to deliver on a small budget. That's exactly what Texas Chainsaw Massacre needs.
Um And here's the thing with that franchise.
There's you can really do anything cuz there's no continuity. It's all all over the place. I don't know if you're better off just going in and crafting your own story or trying to connect it to the nightmare of continuity that is the series.
I mean >> I I feel like the best thing would to be just make it a one-off story.
Acknowledge that this is thing has existed. Yeah.
>> And this is your take.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm almost wondering if he's going to take it if he's going to take it more into like the suburbs or something. I mean, I know that was the plan at one point.
I could see for some reason he's just like the first film's perfect. We're just going to we're going to kind of just tell this story somewhere else. I'm curious though.
That's that's a good thing.
Uh I didn't have a whole lot of I haven't had a whole lot of hope for Texas Chainsaw in a long time. So we shall see. I'd rather him do original stuff though. I I agree.
Uh let's see.
Um Uh one one minor issue that I I I do have with this too.
All of us at one point were probably a little awkward around girls, especially, you know, early dating age.
But she was pretty much screaming at him. Like when a girl asks like, "Do you like me?"
That usually means she likes you. So I was kind of like in my seat thinking like he's he's a he's a bit pussyish.
>> It's def- it's [ __ ] something a kid nowadays would do though.
You're probably right. I just like hey, even even younger awkward Dan would be like all right, I'm good.
>> Well, I'm sorry not everybody's as G as you Dan. Shut the [ __ ] up.
Not many people do Krueger. It's it's it's a curse. Blessing and a curse, but uh yeah, I don't know.
It was like she was laying it on >> are what gets the ladies.
Bulge Todd. It's it's yeah, short bulge.
>> That's what that's what The only time the bulge gets you is is when it's coming out of your pocket with your wallet Dan.
>> [laughter] >> Damn. Damn.
All right. So, on that note Yeah, what do you what do you guys rate this one?
>> Five stars for me.
Dan?
I am four and a half. I'm also a five.
Nice. Nice. All right. So, yeah, check it out. Share your psycho ex stories in our Discord. Unload. Dr. Dan will fix everything for you in the Discord. So, it's a very booming Discord. So, very booming.
>> is the master of relationships.
Yes, I am. I will help you. I will solve >> you never mind. I'm not going to I'm not going to I will solve all Todd. I will solve all.
Uh pull up that comment real quick.
Uh Which one? The Jacobs one. Okay.
Uh Jacob Corn those said, I think she would have used him as a rebound if he had the balls to be forward, but wouldn't have lasted. Agreed.
Also though, I don't think I I I I really don't think she probably would have [ __ ] went for him to be honest with you. I don't think I don't think Sam or that Sarah check was lying about what she said. I I don't think that the when she asked the question, I don't think it was it was like cuz she liked him. No, it was probably a hey, like stop being weird. Yeah, it was like if he would have said yes, she would have shut him down. It would have been like, you know, you're my brother friend blah blah blah.
She would have 100% friend zoned him.
The tone she asked the question is not the tone of I like you, too.
Yeah.
I don't know. I'd have to go back and watch it again.
>> [laughter] >> I'd have to go back and watch it again.
>> Okay, but I'm telling you, Dad.
Body language, tone, 100% not wanting his dick.
Say she wanted his. She might have wanted the dick and nothing else. That's also [snorts] possible.
>> No, she she he was friend zoned. Further proof when they when she was behind banging his friend behind his back, she want she he was so friend zoned it didn't even matter. And all that would have done would have been putting him in his like, no, this is not what this is.
What a piece of [ __ ] friend, by the way.
That was a spoiler, though.
So, we should probably cut that. Not spoiler.
Uh all right. So, moving on to our next movie.
>> bad.
Maybe I'll go cut it out.
>> [laughter] >> All right, moving on to our next movie of the evening, which is from friend of the channel director Shawn Donahue, Die Die Delta Pi 2: The Burnt One. And uh in this film >> Wait, wait, hold on. Sorry, I hate to I hate to do this, like I I I want to address the last com- sorry. We're stuck on this Daily Ghost.
Read this one. Yeah, Daily Ghost interesting since the story is more about her being forced to do what she doesn't want to do, but this review is saying she's just a crazy [ __ ] No, none of us are saying that. No, no, no.
The It turns her into that, but that's not the fault.
>> the the possessed entity is the crazy [ __ ] that we're referring to, not >> Yeah, and her. Yeah, I mean, she was she was Yes, she was a [ __ ] in real life from the things she had done and the things we just said, but not like this.
She was like I mean, she did some [ __ ] up things.
>> Yeah, no, at the end No, we and we also said like it was him being the villain, so I don't know where you got that. Uh So, just just I just wanted to clear that up, so okay. Yeah.
Sorry. Now enough of that. Any other comments I'm ignoring cuz we're getting to the next review. All right.
Dad All right.
Die Die Delta Pi 2 The Burnt One from writer-director Shawn Donahue. And in this film, 13 years after the last Delta Pi massacre, a new group of sorority sisters decide to get the Delta Pi sorority up and running again. Little do they know that a new killer has emerged taking out the sisters one by one. Will they survive or will this massacre be the worst one yet?
So, what do you What did you gentlemen think of Die Die Delta Pi 2?
>> Oh, sorry.
All right.
Todd, what did you think of Die Die Delta Pi 2?
I mean, I I loved it. I I think I actually enjoyed this one even more than the first, which I'm obviously a fan of.
I mean, the Delta Delta Pi match at our last wrestling event and the screening, um which was filming at the same time as this. So, this thing came out pretty damn quick. Um yeah, I I don't know. Something about it like felt elevated. Um I I like as an elevated horror, but I mean, I felt like it, you know, bigger than the first one.
I loved that, you know, the the bikini car wash elements, which yours truly did that graphic in there, Sean. I'm just throwing that out there.
I mean, you know I love Sean Donahue's movies and this is no exception. I think this one is just a fun throwback.
Cinemax style, uh you know, got a little bit of the the the bikini carwash >> Got the jiggle, Todd. It's got >> It's just all together. It stars um Dare Taylor from one of my favorite trilogies, the Girls Gone Wild trilogy.
And she was in the last one, Girls Gone Wild on Film.
Um Girl Lost was the first one and yeah, but I love those movies and to see her pop up in like a Sean Donahue movie, I thought it was awesome. She's also done some Full Moon stuff.
Uh she was great in this. The entire cast, you know, you see the the Sean Donahue regulars pop up, too.
It was just a good good [ __ ] time. I I haven't had this much fun with just a like a a throwback slasher in quite a while.
Nice. Nice. You know, the first thing I did after watching this and the performance uh of by Joel D. Wynkoop, Florida legend, as as Coach Bradshaw, I just walked up to my nephew and I just screamed, "Cereal! [ __ ] your cereal!"
and I just knocked it out of his hand.
>> [laughter] >> And he was really confused and kind of upset. And I just [snorts] told him, "Die die Delta Pi, too."
Yes, that was like my favorite thing about this movie.
>> You need to film that, Dan, for content cuz that would get clicks.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know. Can I Yeah, just just [ __ ] knocks cereal out of nephew's hand. It 10 million views.
Uh no, this one I mean, again, it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's uh I think with credits just barely an hour and plenty of time uh to tell the story. Beautiful girls.
Uh we have, of course, uh the beautiful Sushi uh event Holder returning as goth chick Harper. Always great to see her.
We have Rhonda Shear in here as Rowdy Ronda.
Which is kind of funny.
And and a lot of the regulars from Sean's films. Sean himself makes a cameo?
Sean does make a cameo. I I I would really love to see more of Coach Bradshaw even if it was like a prequel or or something. You know what you're going to get into with you know Gatorblade films and this type of movie. There's ass paddling hazing.
There's shower scenes. There's you know everything you want from a sorority slasher. It's it's it's a lot of fun. It really is a lot of fun and Yeah, I am a fan. I am a fan.
And I feel like we're going to probably get more. I'm sure at some point we'll have Sean back on for an interview cuz I I get a vibe we're probably going to get a Die Die Delta Pi 3 and beyond.
>> so. I know I know he's mentioned that we are getting a sequel to the erotic thriller and fatal desires.
Like name was escaping me. So we are getting a follow up to that which is which is awesome too.
I know that That one fatal desires has been killing it on Tubi. Yeah, it's been doing great so.
Yeah, can't wait to see I mean we love that one also. I mean obviously different genre but yeah.
Yeah, we've we've got some more erotic thriller stuff dropping on this channel.
>> Hobo Cop sitting right there just randomly there.
I I love Hobo Cop.
Which we never did a full review of but we will we will talk about it because I I think we're planning something in October, so.
It's uh For those who have seen it, when he grabs like the Walmart bag, if you've seen it, you know what I'm I'm talking about. That is like the funniest [ __ ] ever. I I love that movie. Bob Glazier is a legend. Uh yeah, no, good times. Uh check it out. Uh this is definitely uh this definitely a lot of fun and uh sorority slashers, erotic thrillers, Shawn does them right.
Uh so, what do you rate this one, Todd?
Oh, I'm obviously a five. I love this one. It's uh it's just old-school fun. Good good slasher.
And I am a four. I loved it as well. Uh so, moving on to our next movie.
Give me a minute here.
Um and Todd, uh is there any any like uh release or to be or V I I mean, it'll be coming soon to that stuff. I mean, right now, the the contributors are just getting the their their, you know, digital copies and then physicals will be going out and then um I'm sure soon enough it'll be streaming somewhere.
All right, sweet. So, keep your eyes out. We'll we'll update any of that when we get the news. So, all right, moving on to our next film of the evening from director Simon Glassman, Buffet Infinity. And in this film, echoing the comedy classic SCTV, cross-cutting between original low-budget TV ads to tell the sinister tale of two restaurants battling it out in the fictional Canadian town of Westridge County.
Uh so, a a little bit more about this.
Um the director, he did a a puppet TV series uh called Felt Up. I know years ago.
Uh and so, it's vaguely familiar uh with him.
Even though this is like a series of commercials, cuz I will tell you off the bat I could see maybe some people it's taking about 10, 15 minutes to kind of settle into this. There is a narrative.
There is a narrative story that's being told throughout these uh commercials with these oddballs.
Uh and I'm going to say this is one of my favorite [ __ ] movies this year.
This is a weird one. But, I loved it.
The mix of cosmic horror and I know that the director was inspired by Adult Swim.
Uh yeah. You could definitely tell. This This whole movie felt like a feature-length Adult Swim skit. Like, it's very on par with the humor that's in like Yule Log and >> Yeah.
Yeah, it it and it's got a lot to say in between the craziness. I mean, one uh it's a car salesman ad where it's like Captain Savings is just beating the [ __ ] out of it. The thrift The thrift store [ __ ] dude was my favorite.
>> [laughter] >> Ahmed's pawn shop where he keeps rapping. Yeah. And then it it's all wrapped around this cosmic horror event cuz there's a a sinkhole, there's this kind of cultish dude that's like >> missing.
>> [clears throat] >> Yeah, just it it it it takes a minute. Like I said, I I could see some people giving up in the first five or 10 minutes thinking this isn't for them. I hope you stick with it because there's a distinct a very distinct Canadian flavor to this movie.
I love the the casual shittiness between the restaurants where it's like unlike our competitors which claim to be authentic Italian food but the owner has a Scottish name. [laughter] I I >> It's It's so funny. Yeah, this this to for me is just a fun satire on our society that we live in today basically.
Um Yeah, like I said before, [ __ ] if you like the U Log movies this is going to be right up your [ __ ] alley or if you're just a fan of Adult Swim skits and [ __ ] this is going to be up your alley. I I I liked it a lot. Um I'm not as high as you are on it then but uh I enjoyed I enjoy this type of humor.
So this worked fairly well for me. It's not something I'm going to like be clamoring to rewatch a ton but if if I was in the mood for something weird and uh I wanted to show somebody something weird and just get high as [ __ ] and watch something probably this >> [laughter] >> would be in the rotation.
I know that the the director said like this was something like he really made for people born in the the '80s early '90s.
Um I you know, that just that public access generation. I I figured you'd love it Todd cuz you know, Amazon women on the moon I know is one of the greatest >> Yeah, but it's not like really like those cuz this >> Not exactly.
>> It's like or even SCTV. This is strictly commercials and a little bit of news footage. But there's still news commercials like teasing the news segments.
So like it took me >> But it does it does break past that cuz you know, like I said >> Eventually. But I mean Yeah, I I like the first, you know, probably 10 minutes. I was like, all right, how are we going to advance the story? And then when it starts regressing, it really just keeps going.
Yeah, I I was amazed how much I liked this cuz I saw the, you know, the I think this was uh a one of the the festivals had it and I was like, [ __ ] I wish I could go so bad cuz it sounds right up my alley. And uh of course, unfortunately, I had to wait.
Uh but man, this one just hit a home run for me. I think it is maybe the most inventive movie made this year. And just where we end up with all these characters, Jenny, the sandwich shop lady, uh and it's got a lot to say about religious propaganda, consumerism.
Like, this movie's not just uh you know, it's not it's more than you would think especially when you start off. And the escalation of the burger or this burger just slowly starts to become this stacked monstrosity. It's got like [ __ ] tentacles in it and all this [ __ ] Uh I think Chris, if you're watching this, uh Matt, if you're watching this, I think you guys will in particular [ __ ] love this. It's I don't know. I I laughed my ass off uh and I just I had a really good time.
Uh now, again, horror comedy, emphasis on the comedy. I don't think this is going to necessarily uh scare anybody, but it does have something to say. It's probably going to get a uh a Blu-ray. Uh I believe this was Yellow Veil Pictures if I'm not mistaken. So, okay, yeah. So, it'll get uh it'll get a Blu-ray on Vinegar Syndrome. I I will pick it up immediately. That's how much I love this. So, no shock.
I'm five stars.
I really had a good time. I am three stars.
I'm also five on this one tonight, too.
I mean, that's three in a row for me.
So, what the [ __ ] All right. I I was going to say I I had a feeling. I'm like, I think this is going to be a a good week. I wasn't too sure if you'd like it. We did rate Delta I Delta Pi 2, didn't we? Yeah.
Okay.
Good. I I just don't remember doing it.
Yeah, you gave it a five. I knew that one. I My brain knew that.
Ted's been hitting that wacky tobacco.
That's what it does to you. All right.
>> it's sweet. Okay.
>> [laughter] >> So, Buffet Infinity, keep an eye out.
And moving on to our next film of the evening, currently streaming on Scream Box from director Jay Burlinson, and we have Kennelled.
>> [clears throat] >> So, in uh in Kennelled, I can see Krueger's excited about this.
In Kennelled, we follow a destitute dog walker who finds a wealthy client who saves him from financial ruin. But this is no ordinary dog. It's a man.
All right, Krueger.
Uh yeah, so I I stumbled upon this movie because my friend Germ was super high on it, and then I saw it was on Scream Box.
And I don't know what it is, but sometimes Scream Box movies just kind of run under the radar for me. Um cuz this got released, I think, a a probably a few months ago. Um but yeah, this movie is just [ __ ] weird and bizarre and just a lot of fun.
I I I had a great time with it. Uh it's so [ __ ] awkward and just makes you uncomfortable. Uh when it's revealed that it's not just this dog, it's like a whole society of [ __ ] >> There There's more to it. There's >> Yeah.
Uh all of that [ __ ] just gets bad [ __ ] weird. We get very taboo in some [ __ ] areas and uh if you're a fan of horror that like pushes the boundaries in the like fetish life, uh I think you're going to you're going to have a pretty good time with this one cuz this is just a [ __ ] strange one. Uh and I I I It's not going to be for everybody. You're going to know pretty right away if you're going to want to stick around or not, but if you go along for the ride, uh by the end, I was just like, "Wow, that was probably the weirdest [ __ ] thing I've seen in a really long time and I had a great time with it."
So, I don't know if I I'm pretty sure I I I know Todd knows.
This one was kind of trippy for me cuz I won't rehash the whole story, but years and years and years ago, I set out to do this documentary on let's just say it sort of trended towards kinky people in a small town.
And we went we interviewed well, we interviewed his family, but it was a guy who lived like this.
Now, I don't know to what degree yeah, you know, the the theatrics of it stop when there aren't people there interviewing them, but this guy was just like Doug in this movie except he had like a more of a leather mask gimmick on.
So >> He was a [ __ ] dog.
He was yeah, he was kind of a [ __ ] dog which ended up in a movie later. But kind of sort of um So We were I've I've kind of experienced this as crazy as it is and I mean he wasn't I mean he was verbal but you know, we talked to the family.
That's that's a whole lot of stuff.
>> him.
I was going to say I I assume so if you interviewed him.
>> [laughter] >> He would you sat there and he >> Did you pat him? did No. No. In fact, that's why the documentary wasn't made because the other guy was just did the camera stuff was He's like I'm out. This is this fire.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, I'm out. Another round his balls and butt hole.
It's like just let him do it.
>> [laughter] >> No, it so And I would all I remember it was it was it was a lot but like they were very insistent like not not a furry he is a dog like not a furry like I don't understand the whole subculture so I don't want to offend anybody but I think it was like a little bit more this than you know, furry culture which I which I know is different and I don't want anybody to get offended in that.
in the furry community so no offense intended but but yeah, so I thought this movie was [ __ ] insane.
And with that premise I'm like is this going to be more of a comedy but no this balls to the wall when it comes to the the the horror. In fact, it gets really really [ __ ] up uh in that final act.
Like, I mean, it's intense. And I Yeah, this is another winner. Nobody's talking about this one, and you're right. I think some Screambox releases kind of slip under the radar for people. Like, the Shudder ones get a lot of coverage, but you know, this the Screambox ones not so much because I I haven't heard a single person talking about this, but great acting In in fact, the whole Uh and his name's Walker. Haha. Uh and his girlfriend, Kylie, she's like rich parents. She's getting ready to go off to Georgetown, have this great career, and and he finally catches a break, and she doesn't like it when she realizes that he's walking a a a human being. Uh and [laughter] Ooh, boy. Uh one of the more uncomfortable gore scenes in this, which I won't spoil, Oh, yeah. towards the end. Like, this this one also made me uncomfortable. This was very very strange. And there's more to it than you think, and yeah, I I get Todd, what did you think? Have you ever encountered someone like this?
No. Um >> [laughter] >> I don't hang with weirdos other than Dan. Damn. Damn. Damn.
Um But, did you like the movie? I I did, but I will say the first half I was kind of like maybe first half hour I was like, "Ah, this Yeah, I was just like I I don't know about this." But, then as things started picking up and things changed, I was like, "All right. I'm I'm in for the ride." And uh I think it delivered in the end. Is it one I'll revisit? I don't know, but I did enjoy the ride. Did you guys ever watch that movie Good Boy?
Yeah, which one? Yeah.
Yeah, I I still haven't seen it. Is it any good? Oh, the the the point the dog point of view one?
The it's No, or am I thinking of a different movie?
There's a movie about [ __ ] this, too, where a dude like a girl starts dating a guy and realizes that he has a [ __ ] dog dude as a pet.
Oh. There There's a few uh There's a handful of movies kind of like this, but this kind of it takes you further down the rabbit hole than the other movies.
Uh Yeah, I I think I know what you're talking about. There's also that um that one where he thinks he's a wolf and it's like they're at a Oh, yeah. I think I know what you're talking about.
>> at a conversion camp sort of thing.
>> theatrically. I forget the name of it.
Yeah, yeah.
Uh so, there there are other There are others like this. I'll I'll figure out what that was.
>> JG says you're talking about the one that was called Good Boy, but got renamed. Oh, what What was it renamed then?
Well, I I My gut says if he knew the answer, he would have said it. Yeah, [laughter] he might say If you do know >> Todd. Kink shames everybody.
>> It's like a Norwegian movie, I believe.
Uh Is it Hold, I'm looking this one up.
This is from like But, yeah, no, I I really felt bad for the girlfriend.
>> I think I found it. It's called >> too.
It says it's called Good Boy.
>> Yeah, that's what I Yeah, I was just going to say yeah, it looks like it's it is.
Oh, yeah. I think yeah.
>> Tubi. Yeah, I saw it on Folsom, too.
Yeah. Yeah, did you guys Have you guys seen this?
No, I have not. Not that one, I don't think, but I've watched >> maybe a future review then.
We'll do a whole theme. We'll do a whole theme.
Uh Yeah.
Everybody in this movie was memorable, too. Like everybody had their own little weird thing, like Preston, the doctor, uh the uh the the other girl. Like I thought everybody really made an impression in [laughter] this movie. And yeah, if you like disturbing horror, wow. Like I was I was surprised. I wasn't too sure I kind of thought this was going to be more of like a drama, to be honest. I thought just bonding with this uh this uh this guy and accepting his very, very uh niche lifestyle was going to be the story we get, but no. What a great horror movie.
And uh yeah, so check it out if you don't mind being a little bit uh disturbed. Or if you're you have a more open mind, unlike Todd, when it comes to to I have no Okay.
alternative lifestyle.
>> I have no no issues with it. Um I don't know why you're trying to put that off on me. It doesn't mean I'm going to hang out >> going to look I'm going to see if I can find this family and we can bring them on the show, then. Okay, Dan. I'm not going to hang out with someone who's doing their weird sexual stuff in any situation. It has nothing to do with me wanting like kink shaming them. I just don't need to be around what gets you off when I'm not trying to get off.
That's not kink shaming, Dan. That's no different than people not wanting their children taught sexuality cuz they're still [ __ ] kids. If I'm in my environment, I don't need you coming over here and trying to [ __ ] push your [ __ ] weirdo [ __ ] on me.
>> [laughter] >> It's that simple. Do that [ __ ] in your home. I don't give a [ __ ] Yeah, don't >> [laughter] >> shouldn't be allowed to >> you're you're acting like you're I'M KINK SHAMING I love you, but not around.
No, it has nothing to do with it, Dan.
If you dressed up as a dog, I don't give a [ __ ] Good for you. Get your freak on.
But if you start doing that [ __ ] in my house, I would be like, "No, no, no. Get your weirdo ass out of here."
Do that [ __ ] on your own time, not mine.
There we go. We have a short now.
All right. Well, what do you rate it, Todd?
Um I'm a three.
I'm a three and a half out of five.
See? I I'm I'm I'm guessing. I'm a four out of five.
There we go.
Uh all right. So, that >> that's out of how erect he was. He was 4 in out of 5 while watching this.
>> [laughter] >> Damn. God damn, Todd. We got to go to a 10 scale for that one, Todd. All right.
>> [laughter] >> All right. A lot of fire on this. Uh moving on to our next film of the evening, which So, well, I'll I'll tell you about it first and I'll kind of kind of clarify a few things about this movie, but uh The Deep Dark uh from writer-director Matthieu Turi. And uh in this film, >> [clears throat] >> we follow miners are forced to take a professor underground with them to take samples for his measurements. After a landslide prevents them from going back up, they discover a crypt from another time, unknowingly waking up a bloodthirsty creature.
Yeah.
>> a little bit of background, I know you want to I know this you suggested it, Krueger, but before I tag you in, uh so, this was this has been technically out for a little while. It It came out in 2023, but it just made its uh US VOD debut a couple months ago, I I believe. So, I'm a big fan of this director. He did two films uh Meander, which I absolutely love, kind of a very, kind of cube type movie, and Hostile.
Uh and uh I'm a big fan of Samuel Le Bihan, who is uh the star of Brotherhood of the Wolf, so Krueger, hot tag, what did you think of Deep Dark? So, I had heard about this movie through uh whenever it came out like overseas. I a lot of the Lovecraft uh like movie groups on Facebook were talking about it. And I had been trying to get my [ __ ] hands on it forever, completely [ __ ] forgot about it, and then realized that it was available now.
Pleasantly surprised to say that this is one of the best creature features I have seen in a very, very [ __ ] long time.
Uh not only does this movie just do a great job of making you feel claustrophobic when these guys are trapped down in this mine with this creature. Um the characters and the acting and just everything, uh it's so well written and well done, and the creature is [ __ ] awesome as [ __ ] Like all practical, really intimidating, like uh disturbing looking creature uh with all the arms and [ __ ] We got some amazing practical gore, and uh there there's like a a scene where the creature's like controlling somebody and like making them talk through them. One of the coolest [ __ ] things I've seen in a movie in a really long time. It reminded me almost of like Independence Day when uh the alien's controlling the dude and talking through him. Uh uh This overall is just a [ __ ] killer killer killer creature feature.
Uh I'm surprised more people haven't been talking about this. I think it's just because it came out, you know, overseas a few years ago and people forgot, but I I hope this gets some buzz behind it and gets a solid Blu-ray release because I [ __ ] love this damn movie. It's by far probably my favorite creature feature since like Antlers.
Oh, okay. Yeah, apparently like you could watch this like everywhere but here. Like you could watch it on Amazon but not the US Amazon. So, some of his movies haven't had like the best distribution but I I do recommend checking his stuff out, Hostile and uh Meander for sure.
Uh and yeah, so they do a really good job. It's a fairly big cast of these miners going down there and uh they do a pretty good job of establishing these characters and making you really like them. Uh it's mostly practical effects. Now, the one downside with that is when you get the full glimpse of the creature kind of stationary, doesn't move a whole lot.
And then the off-screen kills feels like it it it must know parkour cuz it's just yanking people and moving 100 miles an hour. So, that's like the one trade-off.
You do get some really good effects and the creature looks amazing. But, yeah, that's the price we pay for not having everything be CG. Uh I like this one a lot as well. I think I prefer his other two movies.
Uh this one I'd kind of say is like The Descent meets like a mummy movie with a little Lovecraft thrown in there.
Uh it's I was just [clears throat] saying that yeah, that's right. That's the best way to describe it.
>> Descent, mummy, and Lovecraft, yeah. I Yeah, yeah. That's in the blender, Descent, mummy, and and and Lovecraft.
>> [clears throat] >> Uh but it is it's very suspenseful, very scary. All of his movies, it feels like I I I don't know what the budgets are, but I feel like he knows how to stress how to stretch a penny and his movies all feel like very large scale and epic.
Um great French horror director.
Uh I feel like at some point Hollywood will grab him. He's been out there for a while. He's only actually directed uh a few things, but he's he's worked on a lot of other films as second unit and I I feel like this is somebody we're going to see get something big. Uh at at some point down the line. Hell, give him an Evil Dead movie.
I could absolutely see him nailing that.
Uh but this is this is pretty epic. It takes place in 1956. It opens in 1856.
It's it's a really good monster movie. I was I was thoroughly impressed and I was invested in these characters. I cared about them. Uh it's it's not like super super gory, >> The The gore that's Yeah.
Yeah, the uh the the the head scene. Yeah, the beheading. Oh my god, dude. Nasty, stretchy, [ __ ] part of his neck [ __ ] coming Oh, that was so good.
Oh, yeah. No. Yeah.
Uh amazing and Uh yeah, this is a gem. Another one.
Kind of a a theme tonight like nobody's talking about it. So, What about you, Sean?
>> discovered.
>> [clears throat and cough] >> I enjoyed it. I do definitely think the other two are I do enjoy better.
Um I don't know. This one just didn't click with me. I mean, I enjoyed it. I thought it was well-made and everything.
It's just one I know I'm not going to go back and revisit cuz it made me think of The Descent too much and made me want to watch that more, which probably wasn't the best thing, but um I did enjoy it. I thought it was worth your time, but not my favorite.
All right. Okay. Okay.
Yeah, this director's never missed for me. So, check out check out his other two films as well.
And what do you guys rate this one? I am a four and a half out of five.
I am also a four and a half out of five on this.
I'm a three out of five.
Okay.
Sweet. Sweet.
All right. So, >> know if our last one is our most anticipated, but >> [clears throat] >> I I don't know that it's our most anticipated, but I do feel like a lot of people might be curious cuz this is a This is a movie a lot of people are [ __ ] on without having seen the movie.
So, we're one of the few channels that's actually going to review it for you. And that is So, on IMDb >> That's the original title. That No, that's the original title. I before I'm going to explain it before you read it.
That is the original title of the movie that I T and I'm sure is the one who made him change it to what it is now.
But, go ahead.
Yes, so the original title based on the night the original night of the living dead.
I I think we could have figured that out on on our own.
So, I think yeah, a wise a wise change on that one. I don't know. See, I disagree with that. I think putting that on that lets you know it's a little different. Just calling it Night of the Living Dead makes it feel like okay, we're just trying to re- remake and replace. I think that on there makes it stick out as something different. And I think stripping it off makes it something that all the the rage Tik Toks and YouTube video and all that nonsense is coming from.
I think if it stuck with that original title, >> it would have been taken to something different.
All right. Well, so this is as you may gather from director Christopher Ray. And in this movie, like the George A. Romero 1968 foundational classic, the film follows a ragtag group of survivors who barricade themselves in a remote Pennsylvania farmhouse as a global phenomenon reanimates the dead and society goes to hell.
So, all right. So, this this movie Asylum regular Jared Cohn writes this.
He's also one of the actors in it.
Christopher Ray, son of Fred Olen Ray, directs. And Fred Olen Ray also produces this. So, it's got a lot of talent behind it.
One thing that I like that this does, I'll say off the bat, it kind of flips some things cuz I think we all agree Night of the Living Dead is absolutely timeless.
You're not going to do something better.
You're not going to eclipse Night of the Living Dead. So, I think they went the right direction and they kind of made like a little bit of a companion piece.
They they do flip things.
Like in this one, Barbara is kind of somewhere in between the Barbara in the original and the Barbara in the remake. She's not Rambo, but she's also not kind of the shrieking violet kind of >> She's more of a modern woman.
A little bit. Like yeah, like I I actually really liked what they did with her.
And they also kind of flipped the brother-sister scenario because in in this one, it's Ben's sister, played by Vivica Fox. I believe her character name was Ellie, if I'm not mistaken. And she kind of does a lot of the Ben stuff. So so they do they flip everything.
Cooper's different a little bit like everything feels like they're just kind of doing a little bit of a spin on >> Again, cuz it's based on the original Night of the Living Dead, see, which is why it made more sense when it was the title.
And there's a lot of callbacks the night of Anubis, the original title that they throw in there. I think if you can clear out of your mind that you know, yes, they're remaking another classic, but we see that every year. So at this point I'm kind of indifferent to that anyways, cuz we've already had the shitty UK Night of the Living Dead.
We've had Night of the Living Dead 3D.
>> that's the thing. No one had This is the difference in our society now.
Like you didn't have all this [ __ ] nonsense online for Night of the Living Dead 3D.
And honestly, after watching both, it's probably more justified for the other one. But people would Okay, it was what it was. You saw it or you didn't and you moved on. Didn't have to make a troll [ __ ] personality for a day on [ __ ] social media.
So I don't know what to This movie, number one, one thing that surprised me about it is it's not it's not quite as CG heavy as you'd expect it to be. Especially compared to a lot of modern B movies.
This movie's no classic horror movie. I mean, don't get me wrong.
You're going in, it is definitely a B zombie movie, but it's better than you'd expect. I'd say probably like the one negative Richard Gaby, who I like a lot, is a little bit miscast as Cooper. And there's a couple other characters that maybe aren't the best, but I liked Vivica A. Fox and the actress that played uh Barbara quite a bit. I thought they did a perfectly nice job.
I would pitch this like if you saw some of those early like Asylum zombie movies that they did, some of which were just fun entertaining B movies, you'll probably enjoy this. Anybody telling you that this is like the worst horror movie they've seen all year, you're not watching a lot of movies if that's the case.
Uh it's it's Yeah, I don't know. This one I just feel like is being unfairly dunked on.
>> Yeah, it is. It's just It's just the rage posting to to dog pile on everything, which, you know, whatever.
It is what it is.
>> It's for the clicks, you know, they're >> Yeah, I know it is. It The internet's not real. That's the key thing. We are, but the internet's not. I'll just say that right now.
>> [laughter] >> Um >> we are.
I'm surprised Dan's got this long and hasn't mentioned this. Now, not I don't think it's miscasting. I think it's it's it's going against the casting. Oh, yeah, you're going to do the the number one miscast. No, see, I don't believe it is.
I don't think Rob Van Dam is miscast. I think it was They were doing that It's It's against cast because he's totally the laid-back [ __ ] stoner, but they have him as like the half-racist sheriff who's doing all the stuff. I don't think it's miscast. I think he's playing it against type. And I think >> He's really racist in this.
I said kind of racist.
I don't know. I didn't think he was kind of racist. I Well, I I mean, the the the archetype he's playing would definitely be the the ones that fall in that category is what I'm going with. RVD is very California, and he's playing this Pennsylvania And which is what I think makes it funny.
Yeah, it works.
I would have watched it then.
Yes. He plays the sheriff who's off trying to get the zombies the whole movie.
He has one speech where I'm like, "Okay, this is this is really cheesy."
He's like, "They're going to get them zombies out of our town."
Yeah, but see that's what I mean by the semi-racist cuz all that is racist rhetoric changed to zombies. So, that's why I'm saying it's halfway It's a It's a It's a racist character.
>> eat our [ __ ] brains. I understand that, but they're using racist rhetoric and speeches and changing it from black people to zombies. It's very obvious then. It's not that hard.
>> Okay. Figure it out.
But >> RVD the pass. I do I will say >> not saying Oh my Yes, he I get it, Todd.
I do want it I'm they failed on one thing. He should have thrown the chair at a zombie and done the the kick to the chair spot. The thing they [ __ ] up was at the end he didn't light up a [ __ ] blunt and say, "Another one for the fire." [laughter] Right? I mean, if you're going to have Rob Come on, let him at least spark one up.
Yeah, it was fun I mean, again, I just I didn't think this movie was awful. It entertained me for 90 minutes. Uh Did anybody really expect that they were going to get Night of the Living Dead? I will give it give a hot take here, and I don't think it's that hot. It's better than Night of the Living Dead 3D. It's certainly better than that UK monstrosity.
>> Oh god, I mean, that's the worst though.
All of the Day of the Dead 2 Contagium that made up a word, it's it's nowhere near that. So, I I hope people will just go in and give it a just give it a shot. I had fun with it for 90 minutes.
>> I did, too. And uh uh JG's asking how many seconds is Robert Carradine in it? He's in it the whole movie. He's a He's a through character. He plays a reporter. He pops up throughout the movie. He has a full-on part in the movie.
Which Dan didn't even bring him up at all.
I didn't get to Robert, yes. And and we can't even say it's his last movie cuz he's got seven more in coming out still.
Yeah. Yeah.
Um Yeah, I don't know. I Miko Hughes is also in there.
Uh They're So uh Dee Wallace is in there in the diner. She's the waitress.
It's It's You know, go in expecting a just a B cheapie zombie movie.
I thought it flowed well. I enjoyed Vivica Fox and yeah. Uh No five-star zombie frog splash. No. We We could We should have gotten a little bit more out of RVD. And I know his wrestling bookings are very expensive, so they certainly paid to have him in this.
Uh Robert Yeah, he's pricey.
Hayden asked Robert Carradine, "Didn't he die years ago?" No, he died like 2 months ago. Like yeah.
>> Damn, Hayden. 3 months ago. Not that long.
Revenge of the Nerds, Hayden. He's a Oh, [laughter] yeah. He He's probably thinking of David.
Yeah, David. He's been gone for Yeah, there was no newses around uh Robert.
Damn, I didn't Damn. I know. Now I feel bad.
>> [laughter] >> Cuz they both went out. Well, and let's not get into this discussion.
Yeah, god damn Todd.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, Krueger I think he'd be I again, this is not going to be in your top 10.
It's not going to be in anybody's top 10. But I don't know. I just the dog pile is Zack Ward's in this for like a Isn't it like a split second? I didn't even realize he was in it till the credits.
Yeah, Zack Ward, your next Freddy Krueger possibly. Uh yeah, he is in this that nothing much to speak of with him, but Um yeah, but uh Brittany Underwood I thought was good as Barbara.
It's a fun little companion thing. I mean, I'm not going crazy with my rating, but I I give this one three.
It's above average for a cheap little B zombie movie.
Um I'm a three and a half. I really did enjoy this and I will probably watch it again.
Okay, sweet. Sweet. All right. And well, that's it. Uh That is it, Todd. Before we get out of here, uh I finally watched Hokum. Yes, you did. What'd you tell us what you thought of it?
I think I just don't I'm not like a huge fan of that guy's movies. This is definitely my favorite out of what he's done. Like I dug like The Shining vibes.
Very Stephen It's feels like a Stephen King story, which I I was into. But I don't know. I just I I didn't like I I was kind of bored through half of it. I felt like Like it it turned it turned around and especially like when the twist happens and [ __ ] but like before that I don't know. I was pretty [ __ ] bored like the first like half half of it.
Um But I think I just in general I don't I'm not a big on that guy's movies. Like I liked Oddity. I didn't love it. And I did not like Caviar at all. Oof. I I've absolutely loved Damien Power's movies, so >> Yeah. He definitely has I don't know.
Like I'm not a big [ __ ] ghost guy. I don't like like a lot of ghost movies.
That's a like the paranormal movies unless it's like Evil Dead. Have you seen The Entity?
>> [laughter] >> I actually still haven't seen that.
Well, that's Todd's favorite ghost movie.
>> No, I know.
Best [laughter] motor boating scene ever.
Mhm. [snorts] Yeah, I'm not I'm usually not big on them unless it involves like, you know, actual demons and [ __ ] like that.
>> Right.
But I don't know. Yeah.
Uh so JG has a request and I'm not exactly sure. Uh before you guys wrap, can I get your take on Asia Argento making a comeback and causing controversy at Cannes? Well, she never I mean she never really went away. I mean she was in dark glasses. If you're talking about her her sex scandal I mean she didn't really stop making movies. She was kind of making movies overseas at that point. Anyways, so uh what what did she cause controversy at Cannes?
>> Yeah, I'm trying to Google it real quick just to see anything and I got like 2018.
So yeah, what what what did what did she just being there?
I mean did she ever really get canceled?
I know there's a double-edged uh thing on that, but I think it's kind of hard to cancel you at a certain stage of your career.
>> Well, I mean look at uh what's her name?
The the the teacher that Edward Furlong dated when he was like 13 and and she was like 26.
Oh, I don't remember that.
>> Oh, that was a big thing. Like she would he would be in interviews like talking about how much he loves her and all this stuff. And then like there was a a thing a few years ago like the the the kids at her school found out about it cuz she was still teaching and they wanted to do a report on it in like the school newspaper and the teacher shut it down and all this other [ __ ] Well, they're like well, no [ __ ] Cuz they're like oh, you're going into a person's life. They're like no, this is all on the internet like in public. Like she was like it was a whole thing.
Oh, okay. Hold on. Hold on.
>> [laughter] >> Uh JG, she gave a speech about Weinstein and said people in attendance were predators and will go after you and know who you are. Oh, but you're saying cuz she's one of them too is what you're saying.
>> [laughter] >> I don't know. It's It's It's com- Like I did >> laws were different in that area. I mean, again, it's the I guess that just depends how you feel about it. What do you say?
>> know you couldn't even commit sagittary on a boy until like 1990 >> [snorts] >> I want to say it was 94 in California.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, that's why That's why Furlong's chick's like, okay.
I think.
>> I would be shocked if she was Well, she's probably retired, but uh the chick she was able to keep teaching though.
It wasn't a crime at the time.
That That was pretty [ __ ] up.
>> Well, I mean, no, it legitimately wasn't a crime. I believe it was 94 for the reverse. Like a woman an older woman going for a young It was >> to have to do a little bit of We have to get our our lawyer friend on to talk about that cuz that doesn't feel right to me. It doesn't have to feel right, but it wasn't against the law. There wasn't a law in the books at that time.
>> Let me rephrase that. It doesn't seem that that is correct. I'm going to have to look this up cuz >> I I If you If you said like 54 or something, maybe. No, it was like 94. It was post Edward Furlong.
Okay.
I'm going to do some research cuz I don't really remember.
>> I I don't I don't like to Google it, but it is a fact. So.
I maybe I'll be wrong. Maybe like 98, but I'm pretty sure it was 94.
Imagine like the E red carpet now and you've got like some like like [ __ ] Stranger Things cast.
>> taking her to the red carpet. That's the crazy [ __ ] Believe me, I'm going to look up look this up. That's uh >> Google Edward Furlong's.
She was the the teacher on the set of Terminator 2, I believe.
Huh.
That's so [ __ ] up. I'm going to look at Wow, okay. Well, maybe we'll just talk about on Patreon one day. Yeah.
Yeah, but uh but you know, Asia Yeah, that's a Patreon show. I'm like not going to say anything else, but uh interesting. But no, I think Asia I mean, her career ain't cooled down. I mean, what What at this point it's like, okay, so she never gets to come back for another XXX movie. Like What are you going to do to her? Her dad will still put her in movies. She'll still get, you know, movies overseas. She's She's fine.
I don't really see any of that.
>> I Yeah, I don't think we should talk too deep into it, but I don't even remember what exactly. I know she was with an underage boy.
It was the actor that played her son in The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, yeah. Which is a very bizarre movie to watch knowing that that did happen. And now again, later on.
Much later.
>> Yeah, it wasn't at the same time. It wasn't like uh we were we were not talking to Clown House Oh, [ __ ] Don't even get me started. Yeah, I can't watch that movie, so Dude, neither the [ __ ] can I, bro. Like, [ __ ] that movie.
>> I don't even like watching the cheapest I don't even like watching them either anymore.
I think Patreon show we just booked it.
Uh patreon.com/fleshwoundfeatures where we will dive into all of this madness. Uh but before we go out, Todd, do you want to rehash the the news from earlier on, the announcements?

>> No, I have uh yeah, I have a show for Thunder Mountain Wrestling at the end of the month.
Well, that's uh the 30th. Yeah, the 29th. 29th, okay. Yep.
Uh you would have had to do double duty.
Well, you would have it would have been the next day. That's uh what I meant like back-to-back, yeah.
I'm sorry. Yeah, that's a double shot, Todd. Yeah, double shot. My bad, my bad, my bad, my bad. Yeah, double duty we talked about for something else but >> No, double duty's for [ __ ] if you do it like twice in the same night.
>> Yeah.
Which I used to do regularly. Yeah.
Yeah, I I on the same show sometimes even. Yeah, the same exact show. I'd be match two and then six.
>> [gasps] >> You know what?
Never mind.
>> [laughter] >> It's time for a restart. People are jumping in thinking we're still talking about uh something else. All right, so we should probably get out of here and talk about other things.
