Ranking Seven Action Movies (For Gregory Lalor)

[00:00:01][music] [music] >> Now, I come to my god everybody. Hey, Gregory Lawler, he asked me to rank seven movies.

[00:00:15]He gave me a list of seven movies and these are the movies that I'm going to rank them. These are the movies without being ranked.

[00:00:23]He asked me to rank Blade Runner, Predator, The Thing, Alien, and then Aliens.

[00:00:31]Terminator and Terminator 2 and Escape from New York. All right?

[00:00:38]All right.

[00:00:39]This may be controversial to some people, but not all cuz I know as years gone by people have agreed with me on um on what I think of my number Actually, it's not at the bottom.

[00:00:58]It's at seven. All right.

[00:01:00]At number eight all the way at the bottom. Hey this may be controversial, but I'm sorry. I don't get the movie. I've seen the movie twice. I saw it when it was new, didn't like it, and gave it another chance I don't know maybe a decade ago.

[00:01:16]Blade Runner. I don't know. I'm not this I mean, I'm into Star Wars and [ __ ] like that, but I'm not that nerdy. I mean, Blade Runner gets a little too nerdy for me where it kind of loses me a bit. It's like I'm not a fan of superhero movies.

[00:01:33]Like your Batmans and your Superman and all that [ __ ] Uh Marvel Comics or whatever.

[00:01:41]Uh I'm not into any of that. Any of it.

[00:01:45]And and it's too nerdy for me. And you you know why the thing is is that when I was a kid, I was never into comic books unless that comic book was Mad Magazine or Cracked or crazy. Those three magazines, those funny uh comics I did dig.

[00:02:06]Uh Blade Runner, I don't care for it.

[00:02:08]All the way to the bottom. All right, this is the controversial one.

[00:02:12]At number seven, Terminator 2.

[00:02:16]What a huge disappointment. I saw it when it was new. I saw it in the theater and yes, I thought the visuals were incredible.

[00:02:28]The whole thing, you know, just the whole thing was very groundbreaking, you know, the melting Terminator and all that [ __ ] But I'll tell you what I [ __ ] hate about that movie.

[00:02:42]Really two things. Number one, the kid.

[00:02:46]Should have put a bullet in his head.

[00:02:47]John Connor, just kill the [ __ ] Who cares about the future? John Connor sucks.

[00:02:54]Don't kill him, Terminator.

[00:03:00]It's the Terminator. And here's another thing I [ __ ] hate about Terminator 2.

[00:03:06]Arnold Schwarzenegger is a badass as a Terminator, as the bad guy. He fits the mold perfectly, better than that Patrick whatever which was he was not bad, but I like a Terminator that doesn't speak perfect English.

[00:03:29]Very robot-like and just the way he would move his head in T1.

[00:03:36]I hate T2. Yes, it has its moments action-wise, which is cool, but overall, if you're going to compare it to the first Terminator, I think it sucks balls.

[00:03:48]All right.

[00:03:49]Let's keep going here.

[00:03:52]Uh All right, number six. All right.

[00:03:56]I think it suffers the same problem as T2. Though, it's much better. It's actually a good movie.

[00:04:03]But, the part of T2 that that [ __ ] up this movie is the kid again.

[00:04:08]And that is Aliens.

[00:04:11]That little girl.

[00:04:15]Uh she was annoying. I mean, there was one part that I liked with her. Was the part where Sigourney Weaver tells Bill Paxton, "Hey, this girl's been here for months and she's still alive." And then Bill Paxton says, "Well, why don't you put her in charge?" That was the only good thing she did in the movie. But, I was happy to find out she died in part three.

[00:04:40]Sorry. And look, I don't mean to be a It just bothers me.

[00:04:45]Not not as good as the first Aliens.

[00:04:49]All right?

[00:04:51]But, still not a bad movie. A good All right, number five. Boy, I haven't seen this one in decades, but I remember liking it.

[00:04:59]Uh Escape from New York.

[00:05:01]Snake Plissken. I remember Escape from LA sucked.

[00:05:04]The sequel. But, from New York, I remember it being good. But, you know what? My my memory is kind of hazy.

[00:05:12]But, yeah, like I said, you know, Blade Runner, T2, and Aliens.

[00:05:17]Yeah, I can find faults with that. I don't remember any faults with Escape from New York.

[00:05:23]So, that one is at number five.

[00:05:27]All right, number four. Predator.

[00:05:30]>> [clears throat] >> I love Predator. I really do. I don't think it's as amazing as most people say. Honestly, I don't think I saw the sequels and you know?

[00:05:42]I mean, the only thing's uh interesting about the sequel of predators that Bill Paxton dies. So, Bill Paxton dies from a predator, he dies from an alien.

[00:05:56]And this one, a lot of people say, "Well, he dies from Terminator, too."

[00:06:02]That one is up for debate. You don't actually see him die. In the term Terminator just throws his ass to the to the gate, you know?

[00:06:11]But, either way, um Predator It's a good movie, though. I don't think it's a bad movie, but it became so popular, it got sequels, and I really don't get it.

[00:06:27]Uh but, yeah, it's a good movie, though.

[00:06:30]All right, number three, you know what?

[00:06:32]My number three should be number one. My top three right here, I have them all on 4K. Every one of them I bought on 4K cuz they're specialized movies to me.

[00:06:43]Number three, which it should be number one, but I'm putting it at number three, is The Thing.

[00:06:50]I love that freaking movie. That part where he's checking the blood, it always gets me.

[00:06:56]It always gets me.

[00:06:59]It just freaks me out. That whole movie freaks me out, and I like that dark ending, you don't know exactly what happens.

[00:07:06]Thing is awesome. And that one's at number three. At number two, I bought on 4K, like I said, the first Alien movie.

[00:07:15]The first Alien movie, I remember when that was a brand new movie. I remember seeing it in the theater.

[00:07:23]You know, of course, the scene where the alien popping out of the guy's chest will always be the scene that [ __ ] me up when I was a kid.

[00:07:30]Which is That is the scene to remember a movie, you know? You know, that whole freaking movie is [ __ ] awesome. The suspense of it, you know? Uh it's just the whole package.

[00:07:44]An amazing, incredible movie. Alien 1 has never been improved. And at number one, and I got to say, it's like in my top five greatest movies of all time, is Terminator.

[00:07:57]Terminator. Honestly, in in my world, Arnold Schwarzenegger would have won an Oscar for Terminator.

[00:08:05]His portrayal of a [ __ ] cyborg couldn't have been better. No other actor has been as good as him afterwards.

[00:08:15]And Arnold sucks as a good Terminator.

[00:08:17]He just does. He just sucks. I like him pissed, mean, [ __ ] you [ __ ] taking out his eyeball and [ __ ] The first Terminator is godly, one of the greatest movies ever made. I'd even throw Alien in there, too. Alien would make my top 10. Terminator would definitely make my top five, maybe even top three. Jaws is the greatest movie of all time. Then The Shining.

[00:08:49]Then yeah.

[00:08:51]Uh no, Godfather.

[00:08:54]Yeah, Godfather put above the Terminator, but still.

[00:08:58]That's it.
