The video tries to turn a routine weather report into a science lecture, yet offers little more insight than a basic radar map. It’s a classic case of over-intellectualizing the mundane to give local news a false sense of authority.

Tracking rain across Indiana, especially south and east of Indianapolis | Wednesday Rain ZonesIndiziert:
A front over central Indiana will keep on-and-off showers in play most of Wednesday, especially south of I-70. It will be cooler today with a light north wind. Most of the day will be spent in the 50s. Thursday looks dry and cool, but another round of rain is possible Friday and Saturday. Sunday, race day for the Indianapolis 500 may have some spotty showers still
Yeah, I'm going to say good luck trying to like figure out which one it is.
Yeah, just play it safe there. Your time is 4:17 this morning. We are starting to get towards that humidity that feels like the bugs just really thrive in, but we are going to cool down now though, right?
>> the front is finally here. So, the temperatures will go down and the humidity will go down a little bit. It's not as if we're going to get cold, so that's good. And then we'll gradually I think rebound this weekend. But it is a wet start this morning out there. Watch out for some scattered showers as you are headed out the door. One thing that we'll be watching in traffic is this jackknife semi on I-70 westbound over by Shadeland Avenue. These folks with the headlights coming in towards downtown Indianapolis. You're real close to the I-70/465 interchange. Looks like one lane is open, but we'll have more details on that here shortly. Right now, it is a cloudy start and a wet start at least for some of us. We have scattered showers. That doesn't mean everyone's getting wet, but essentially the farther south or the farther east you are, the more rain you're likely going to get as temperatures have been starting off in the 50s and 60s. There's the front and the rain's going to try to hug close to at least within, let's say, 50 mi north or south of this front. And that does include central Indiana, at least a lot of us. I do want to let you know, tomorrow's going to be a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine, higher pressure moving in. There's one more front though that we have to get through, hopefully quickly, so the Indy 500 can be on the drier side. I think that next front comes in more Friday and Saturday with some scattered rain. Can't rule out a chance for a spotty shower though the rest of Memorial Day weekend. Right now though, we've got some rain. Let's take the front off so you can see a little bit better, but essentially the rain is hugging that front. Scattered showers and downpours continue to push out there across central Indiana with flash flood alerts farther to the south. Many of us are still under a flood watch this morning because of the rain. We've already picked up 2 to 4 in for many of us, and another quarter to half inch may fall the rest of the day. The steadiest rain is to our east right now, Wayne, Fayette, Rush, and two Union counties, even Decatur County, you've got some steady rain. Farther south, we have some over Jackson and Lawrence counties, too.
Couple little bit spotty showers moving into Morgan County and Johnson County.
And good morning here in Marion County.
We don't have heavy rain, but we still have some spotty sprinkles. So, essentially, the farther south and east you are, the more rain you're going to get. Areas north and west were drier, and we're also a little bit cooler as that front is trying to make its way in.
So, everyone's going to have a sip a different timeline for rain and for your temperatures, just depending on how close you are to that front. But essentially, most of the day should be spent in the 60s across central Indiana.
Even our highs will be capped in the 60s. So, how it feels out there this morning probably won't change very much.
Here are your rain zones the rest of this morning. The bulk of the rain to our south and east that continues into this afternoon. Indianapolis, we're right on the cutoff. I think we'll have some times of light showers and times of some dry weather, too. Our northern suburbs will be drier than our southern suburbs. And then later this evening, rain should wrap up to our south and east, and then we can be good. Here's a look at Feature Track 13, another way to look at that rain. Scattered showers through that morning commute, nothing too heavy, nothing severe, just some plain old rain out there throughout the day. Another quarter to half inch of rain may fall, especially south of the city. And then as we uh look ahead this evening, you may get a little bit wet as you're trying to head to the Fever game, but I think by the time you're headed home, we'll dry out. Tomorrow's a dry day, and then coming up, we'll take a closer look at your race day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, and how some rain showers could impact things here shortly.
All right, let's talk about that Fever game. They have a show that
