Winds gusting near 100km/h kick up dust storm in southwest Sask.

[00:00:01]That southwest corner is very dry. We saw kind of like a haboob happened down there yesterday with those strong wind gusts kicking up these big walls of dust. We don't often get to see that haboob style stuff in the prairies here, but it does happen and it's crazy on how those wind gusts can really kick that loose topsoil way up kilometers in the air. We're already seeing those winds come up across the southwestern part of the province.

[00:00:32]We're already seeing gusts up to 80 km/h at the intensity which I think, you know, the peak intensity will probably be late this morning into this afternoon. We we may see wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h. It's not a great day to be towing trailers or boats or anything like that just because those types of winds can blow you off the road especially if you're they're coming at you at, you know, perpendicular or at a right angle to you. So, if you're driving in a north-south direction, that will be those will be the winds that will impact you more as opposed to driving in a westerly direction or an easterly direction just because you'll be either heading into them or they'll be behind you. So, it's those north-south routes that are be most affected.
