Prayer is not merely a strategy for breakthrough but the very life of a believer, functioning as the heaviest molecule of the Christian life that gives life to every other aspect of spiritual practice; according to Luke 18:1, men ought always to pray and not to faint, meaning prayer is a lifestyle rather than an occasional activity, and it operates through three fundamental principles: (1) God's people must pray before God will rise to work, as His will is only realized through the prayers of His people; (2) earth controls heaven in prayer, meaning the initiative must begin on earth before heavenly resources are released; (3) man must express willingness to implement God's will through prayer to see God's hand in manifestation.

So once upon a time we were sent to a place the mission place the heavens were locked completely locked and I'm talking about the place where we are going for the international eagles conference it was a locked city the terrain was locked the land of witches the land of warlocks strange warlocks witchcraft was so entrenched that the culture itself was witchcraft the culture of the people it was designed to inhabit and to transmit witchcraft from generation to generation and if you like me were privileged to school in such a place you already be bumping into people that are spiritually mighty from the kingdom of darkness as your classmates, people that if the teacher decides to discipline, you you guys don't know what discipline is in school. Oh, so so those those all of them that schooled in Africa, they can sit here for 10 hours. Yes, they they were made to be like that because of the system.
The teacher is a big guy. He can flog you and nothing will happen. So, but God help you when you become when you are a teacher and you flog the wrong person.
That is a master warlock.
Oh, supernatural things take place. You will hear someone tell the teacher. You will see in the morning and the next day the teacher is down and the person will be appearing to the teacher in the dream and the one responsible and me don't try. The teacher will need to send to the person take money give that person and plead before they he cause the spare back. How do you survive in such it's already rigged because people are using supernatural power to so can you fail such a person if you are a teacher and you don't have what it takes? You give them pass quick pass and things will continue that way until a man of prayer arrives. So I always ask, are you the one who is to come? Or should we expect another until a man of prayer arises?
Darkness will have the day. Warlocks will have the day. But I like seeing wicked people humble. Yes, I like it.
It's it's it's you don't do that by speaking. You do that by prayer. Began to pray and then the place began to open. I saw the wonders of the prayer of the prayer power manifest in that land. I saw people that were early widows. because they killed their husbands early young ladies and they refused to remarry and they gave themselves to prayer and they became giants. I saw the word of God prevail and it become effectual in the lives of men. I saw how even the territory the hold of witchcraft on the land broke. I saw how we grew from in spiritual infants and even though we were infants they couldn't kill us. The witches could not kill us. We were growing. We we were zealers for God. We had no knowledge but we just loved God.
I saw that you don't need to know too much but you need to love much. The hand of God began to raise us began to raise us up and we are still alive today because the power that is in prayer is stronger than witchcraft.
One of the things that those that are saddled with the responsibility of disciplehip must ensure that a person understands is a prayer adventure. If you understand the prayer adventure then you might be alone but you'll not be lonely. You know, Adam was not lonely in the Garden of Eden. He was just alone.
And the fact that there's nobody in the space, there's nobody in the room is not enough reason for you not to have interaction. Very heavy molecule in our Christian life is prayer. In fact, in my opinion, is the heaviest molecule because it is prayer that gives life to every other thing in your Christian life. And it's one of the responsibilities that the believer in Jesus Christ is saddled with. prayer. In fact, the older saints, this is how the older saints render it.
If you read from the writings of Christians in the 18th century, in the 17th century, they call it the life of prayer. Life of prayer. Now, and this concept of prayer as a life is drawn from the book of Luke chap 18 verse one.
Luke 18:1. Normally when Jesus gives a parable, he highlights all the metaphors that are in the parable and he tells the story that captures all the metaphors and then subsequently he begins to interpret or explain the lesson that is captured in the parable. But two times in the ministry of Jesus, he first gave the lesson that was in the parable before he began to speak the parable.
And one of such times happens to be Luke chapter 18 verse number one. This was the scripture from whence the old saints derived the concept of the life of prayer. So they saw prayer as a life.
This is the nerve of the Christian life.
If you get it wrong in in prayer, you get it wrong in everything. You get it wrong in divine direction. You get it wrong in holiness. You've gotten it wrong in relating with people that put pressure on you. You will not have what it takes to manifest the Christ life if you get it wrong in prayer. So it's the nerve of our Christian practice. And according to the book of Luke 18:1, the Bible says, "And he spake a parable to them to this end that men ought always to pray and not to faint." Anytime there are seven times in scripture where Jesus begins to give a prescription as to how men are supposed to function. And the reason why he has the authority to give prescriptions was because he was part of the council of the godhead in the book of Genesis 1 26 where the idea of man was conceived. Let us make man. So in seven outlets in scripture during the earthly ministry of Jesus he revealed what was in the blueprint for man. And this is one of such scriptures. The Bible says he spake a parable to this end. And the lesson of the parable was that men ought always, now stay with me, stay with me. Men are designed to pray and not to faint. You see, men ought always to pray and not to faint. Or men were designed to always pray and not faint. It may be that you are not praying always. It means that you are not operating according to design. You found another way of operating which is totally dissociated from your design.
And you might think you are living but you are malfunctioning. Oh my god.
You know I've studied prayer a a little a little a little over the years over the years. And I find it I find it very important that anyone that stumbles on the Lord must be introduced into the rigor of consistent praying until the spirit of intercession and supplication takes over. Now you see this is how it is. Are you there? If someone begins to indulge in an activity of the flesh and he stays in it for a long time, a spirit being now comes to aid him. So he doesn't Are you there? He comes to aid him. So his his compliance to that will of the flesh becomes automatic. He doesn't need to think about it. And even if he exercises his will, his will will not have enough authority to make him stop because a spirit is involved. Okay?
So if you begin to pray, at first it looks mechanical. At first it looks like you finish praying, you need a massage, you need a chiropractor to adjust your spinal cord, everything is outside of alignment. Just keep on going. At some point the spirit of supplication, the spirit of intercession comes upon you.
And when the when a spirit is involved, it becomes a lifestyle. Even if you want to stop it, you may not have the authority to stop the procession because a spirit is involved. So you see Jesus's perspective of how the life of man should look like is captured in the book of Luke chapter 18 verse number one. And he spake a parable to them to this end that men ought always to pray and not to faint. It means that we have been sentenced to a life of prayer accord the council of the god had sat together and they were contemplating this guy this man and then they decided to sentence us the way we are going to operate the blueprint for us is that we should pray always and not faint and that's why the early fathers 17th 16th century 18th century they came up with this slogan prayer the life of what prayer so today we teach prayer and say prayer is a part of a strategy for breakthrough No, no, no. Prayer is not a part of anything.
Prayer is a life. It's a standalone matter. You know, somebody is teaching about how to survive. Then he now said number two is prayer. Stop it. Stop it.
Prayer is not a strategy. Prayer is a life. It's one of the heaviest molecules of the Christian life. It's what gives life to every aspect of our Christian being. So having understood that I would like us to take many weeks if not months to study prayer critically. And I want you to know that God has no end. So the revelations of God have no end. And the revelation of the scripture has no end.
So even though we do a good work trying to expose important and critical aspects of prayer, I assure you we cannot be exhaustive in our attempt. And don't don't even say that, oh my god, we did some 7 weeks, some 5 weeks, some 8 weeks of prayer study, so I don't need to study prayer. You are you are you are on your own. You are you are completely on your own. There is no way we can exhaust this matter. If you are still with me say amen. All right. So last week we saw that um prayer can be achieved if the human spirit is exercised. Now I did not dwell on that so intently because I am hoping that will take a few weeks to do what we call the spiritual gym. How to exercise your spirit the same way I know someone gave me a counsel the other day and say hey stop all this treadmill you have at home. You're not going to use it. All these dumbbells you want to buy.
You will not use it. It will be a decorative accessory that if you want to get serious with fitness, go and register with a fitness gym or what do they call it? Is it a gym? Fitness what?
Center. Hallelujah. I said if you if you drive there, you come into the full psychology of what it is required for you to stretch because my ambition of attaining six pack have not achieved it.
Still on 2.5 and it's it's oh my god. So in the same way there is a spiritual gym and I need to take us show us the address to the spiritual gym and the kind of things that happened there so that you can you can develop spiritual capacity. Now you see the other time some people came to Jesus and say um I believe but help my own belief.
That's a man that has the seed of faith but he's afraid to exercise it. And and the way Jesus says that faith grows is that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say unto this mountain, it means that there are words that are provoked by the state of conviction that has been secured over your heart. I'm not talking about words you speak because you you went to the positive speaking class. They taught you how to become mechanical like a machine.
That's not faith. Have you been to the soap factory before? You see a robot would take soap from here, put soap here, take soap from here, put soap here and it's wonderful. Put soap here and then there's no soap and then the robot goes LIKE NO SOAP. Now you must understand at any point in time when we become mechanical there's no soap.
That's not how the Holy Ghost is. When you go to the gym, you will learn how to there are some capacities, some aptitudes that you will develop in the spiritual gym. I want to even though it's part of this prayer series but I want to make it a standalone topic so that we'll pick it one by one and then we'll explore your hidden and your secret parts and the dynamics of the move of God that captures your inner man. Okay. Is that clear? All right.
Stay with me. Now let's go. Uh we saw that prayer is about exercising your human spirit. We also saw that prayer is not possible until there is a spirit supply. The Bible says are you there?
You know the Bible says that God will strengthen us with might by his spirit in your inner man. It's not something you can accomplish in the flesh. Until there is a supply of the spirit of God, you cannot achieve prayer. It is something beyond the limits of the flesh. You are crippled spiritually. And only the Holy Ghost can make you able.
And so if there's no supply of the spirit, then you have not started striking heaven yet. Because prayer it is the Holy Ghost that gives you the capacity to be able to reach heaven which is God's domain. If the Holy Ghost is not involved in what you are doing as prayer it means that it is reaching the ceiling but it's not reaching heaven. So we said that last was it last week? I don't know. And then we also said that prayer is a precision instrument and that's why you need the help of the Holy Ghost. You know the Holy Ghost, the Bible says we know not what we should pray as we ought, but the spirit himself maketh intercession for the saints in groanings that humankind cannot utter.
Are you there now? And I don't want to talk about groanings yet. I'm going to separate that another course on its own because when we enter into the realm of groanings, you are no you are no longer the one praying. It's the spirit of God that is praying through you. You don't own the utterance. You don't own the energy. You don't own the transmission.
He owns all of the infrastructure that drives that level of prayer. Prayer is a precision instrument. It is more precise than a laserg guided missile. It is a spirit guided missile. We were supposed to look at the concept of quickening uh last week but we were overtaken by time and I will not do that today because we have another topic. we have another matter to look at and then I let us go into the philosophy of prayer and and think widely let's not be trapped let's think outside of the box today since it's a critical aspect of the Christian experience then let us criticize it analyze it as much as possible and find out how it really operates so the first in our philosophy class today the first thing that we are going to do is why prayer why as we attempt to begin to engage this question I will write out three critical scriptures that embody the practice of prayer in the Bible and then we will now begin with why prayer.
The first scripture will be Philippians Philippians are you there? Philippians chapter 4 from verse 6. Second scripture will be Matthew Matthew chapter 7. I I'll give you the verse. And then the third scripture will be James.
James chapter 4 I believe verse two.
James chapter 4 verse two. Uh let me look up uh Matthew so that I can give you the verse. Ma Matthew chapter 7.
Matthew chapter 7. Okay. So we'll begin from verse 7 to verse 11. Matthew 7 7-11.
Um, Phil, Philippians chapter 4 verse 6. Let me see if we have other verses that we can add to Philippians 4:6.
Philippians chapter Okay, so we'll do six and seven here and then we'll do James 4:E 2. Now, these are critical scriptures that embody the practice of prayer. Where's Who is my linguist today? Who is my linguist? Um, oh my Kia, you'll be my linguist. You take a hold of the microphone and you will read. When I ask you to stop, you stop.
Hey, no, no, I I've changed you. What's your name, sister? Yeah, you'll be my my linguist today. So, hand out the um microphone. I've not heard her voice.
He's always soft. Now, we want to hear it through the microphone. Hallelujah.
Now, so those three scriptures embody the practice of prayer. And you will not need to read for too long in order for you to know that prayer is a verb and prayer is not a noun. Okay? So prayer as a verb there is a doing that's associated with it but not a cannal doing not a fleshly doing. I'd like us to read those scriptures. Please begin with Philippians 4 6-7. And be willing to stop if I need to explain. Please go ahead.
>> Philippians 4:6 says, "Be anxious for nothing." Now so let's let's let's try to analyze that word and uh you are reading from NIV I suppose >> King James >> or King James is it new King James >> New King James okay so we'll use your new King James now so please stay with me stay with me let us assume are you there this speaker is anxiety can you walk can you I don't I don't have anything else to use so this will be anxiety and anxiety is a super structure that survives on a certain foundation.
Now, so let's say the cause of the anxiety is that you don't have what it takes to fulfill your mortgage. There is a lack. So that lack, this is lack. This this lectern is lack. This speaker is what? Anxiety. Is that clear? Okay. So he says, "Be anxious for nothing, >> but in everything by prayer and supplication."
>> Can you see the very things that make us anxious supposed to be the propellers that lead us into prayer? Are you there?
The very things that make for anxiety are supposed to be the propellers. It's an indication of the fact if you are anxious, it's an indication of the fact that there is a superfluous manifestation of your insufficiency. In insufficiency is human nature. God created man insufficient so that man will understand that his assignment is to seek help from the Holy Ghost. I told you that God's concept of man is humanity plus Holy Ghost because all of the insufficiencies that God built into your humanity that is supposed to make you seek God look for spiritual support all of that is made available in the person of the Holy Ghost. So if you understand this, you will embrace the Holy Spirit intimately and you will walk with him closely. So he said, "Be anxious for nothing but in everything."
Yeah.
>> With thanksgiving.
>> No, no. Start again.
>> Be anxious for nothing.
>> Okay.
>> But in everything by prayer and supplication. With thanksgiving.
>> With thanksgiving.
>> Let your requests be made known to God.
>> Let your requests be made known to God.
So how does God solve this question?
Does God change the circumstances? No.
He changes you. Now, now read, read verse seven. You'll find out. Most of you don't know how to recognize a miracle.
You felt that if the if the circumstances do not change, I'm going to be crushed. The reason why you feel that way is because of the insufficiency in your humanity. If you climb the ladder of the spirit to another pedestal, your perspective will change.
Most of the time the true miracle is that God changes you not the situation.
God will change you first before he will change the situation. Is that clear? Now verse seven >> verse 7 goes and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.
>> Can you see that to combat the anxiety what God does is that he releases the peace of his own peace that goes beyond human comprehension. He uses that peace as a barricade for your heart and your mind that were open to the infestation of anxiety. Now watch me. This is the need. Huh? Mortgage. This is the anxiety. If you stay long here, you will not have what is called high blood pressure. And when you have high blood pressure, it will not be because of this.
It will be because of this. Are you there? That's why he says do not allow this. This is an explosive device by itself. The moment it penetrates your soul, it can destroy you. It can self-destruct.
So don't stay on anxiety. Every time you experience the symptoms of anxiety, let that become a motivation to drive you into prayer. If you were doing 1 hour every day, then you do 4 hours. You need to get drunk with the Holy Ghost for him to take your mind beyond the reach of of of the anxiety. And you need to keep pressing like that. And then the Bible says when God responds the peace of God that passes what? All understanding will become the garrison, the barricade for your heart and mind. It means that anxiety attacks your mind. Anxiety attacks your heart. So many theologians have so much to say about anxiety. And many of them call it a psychological situation. But take it from me. I want to whisper to you. It's a demon. Take it from me. Take it from me. It's a demon.
This demon is so intelligent that he can use your mind. He can bend your mind.
And the purpose of anxiety is to bring you to a point of total surrender to the will of Satan without a fight. That's not your portion in the name of Jesus.
>> So Jesus says anxiety don't stay there.
The same things once you begin to notice the symptoms of anxiety that should become a propeller that leads you to prayer. And in prayer you have decided that you want to deal with God. Are you with me?
>> Yes. So, so bear this at the back of your mind. Now that you are going the way of prayer, it means you want to deal with God. And I want to assure you of this. God is not so concerned about shifting the circumstances, shifting the situations as he's concerned about shifting you. If you allow God to shift you, then your breakthrough is is you you will enter into the economy of victory even before you see the changes.
Now, can you still remember the scripture where Apostle Paul was saying in all these things we are more than conquerors. It means that the things didn't change. The things were still there. But he climbed in the spirit through prayer and he entered into the economy of victory that was already settled in the heavenlies. He was walking from that perspective. His soul became silent. His soul became joyful.
His soul became full of thanksgiving.
And all the manipulations of anxiety no longer had a hold on his mind and on his heart. So he was walking in victory even though the circumstances never changed.
So if you want to deal with God in the way way of prayer, just know that God is more interested in changing you than he's interested in changing the situation. And that's why I said you must know how to discern a miracle. If you notice you are changed then there's a miracle and you know how you can be depressed.
You know yourself how you can be depressed and then you just you're just there and it will take pills for you to get yourself. You need two two months of of downtime and you need two angels. You will need the staff of God from heaven to revive you. You know how you can be.
But when you go the way your prayer, you now discover that the downtime that the devil normally steals from you in moments of depression, in moments of mindbending, Satan did not have that luxury because you decided to exercise your spirit. Please help me preach to your neighbor. God may not change the circumstances. You are not preaching.
You're not preaching. You're not praying. Make sure you are preaching to somebody. God may not change the circumstances, but God will change you. All right? So, that's one of the scriptures that that embodies prayer. If we don't go deeply to select critical scriptures like this, we are not likely to profit maximally.
This is a life. This is what your life is going to be. This is your life. Once upon a time, I asked someone to I okay, I I Googled something on on on the social media. I Googled about Minnesota and I asked Google to show me the richest neighborhood in uh Minnesota. So, he brought one neighborhood out. Details withheld.
details with him. So I wanted to see the place. So luckily there was someone that was willing to drive me and we went into the neighborhood. There was nothing exciting about that neighborhood. Now let me tell you something. You want excitement, you want joy, you want to be above the seasons, then embrace prayer. At first it will be mechanical. Subsequently, you are released into the vault of life. You are you are of this world. You are in this world. You're no longer of this world. I travel a lot. I'm at the airport waiting lounges. I see people depressed. You can even see it on the faces. There is a place that God knows that if you sit there, the devil's fingers will not reach you. Take that flight, make that mistake, and you'll never recover from it. And the mistake I'm talking about is pray and you will never recover from it. I have my own music in my spirit. I wake up with music. With music. Hey, I have my music when I enter into the shower.
So, I have powerpoints in my house. I know that I'm going to wake up with a new song. I know that if I walk into the shower, it's is my God, I'm alive. I'm alive. Prayer. Prayer has it switch switches on the light so that you stop walking in darkness. So, second scripture will be Matthew chapter 7 from the 7 to verse 11. Sister, help us out.
Matthew 7:11 says, "Ask and it will be given to you."
>> Okay. Now, these are provisions. You know, when Jesus becomes so plain, what he's doing is that he's uncovering spiritual provisions, possibilities. So, he says, "Ask and it shall be given to you." Okay? He says what?
>> Seek.
>> Seek >> and you will find.
>> You will find.
>> Knock.
>> Knock >> and it will open to you.
>> Okay. So, let's let's what's the difference between asking, seeking, and knocking? Yes. Equip her with a microphone. She seems to have a revelation. Who is my Joy? Where's Joy?
All right. Equip equip her. Come get No, leave my linguist. Leave my language.
Get another microphone. Your voice needs to be on the recording so that when people, you know, so I got a call. I got a call where somewhere in the Middle East. Let me not be specific. Somewhere in the Middle East. I I I got a call. I say, "So, what's what's happening?" They now sent me a video. It was minister's conference in Philippines and it was our tips they were using for minister's conference.
The minister's way now. So I want your voice to to enter into the next.
Your voice has to be. Yes.
>> So ask is when you're um requesting something.
>> Request.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> And then seeking is when you go looking for that thing.
>> I'm looking for it.
>> Yeah.
>> Now no no no. Are you looking for it because it's lost?
>> No.
>> So why are you looking for it?
>> It's almost like you're trying to unlock something. You're trying to get into something.
>> Then what's the difference between that and knock?
>> So to my understanding, knocking is where I mean for seeking, right? You don't know where >> you pulled your legs. I just pulled your legs.
>> No. So for seeking, >> listen, listen. You're trying.
>> Okay, sir.
>> There are things in God that God hid for you. He hid it for you. Not he didn't hide it from you. Those are two different things. Oh, you are not with me.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. So, the Bible says eyes have not seen.
It says ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love him. So, eyes have not seen it. Ears have not heard it.
That's not entered into the heart of man. What's the name of that kind of a thing? That's what we call mystery. It's not within the scope of our thinking. is not within the scope of our sight and we've not heard about it but it exists and God hid those things. He said those things are hidden because of your glory.
So there are strategies by which you will climb the steps of elevation into orbits that Satan cannot fight out of your hands. So God hid it for you.
Those are the things you seek. They're not laws, but they are hidden for you.
And you need to make the effort of seeking in order for you to what? To find it. If you know that, you will not turn back just because you tried for 3 days and you did not stumble on the results you are looking for. You know, I told you we need to understand what the miracle. Yes, sister. Knock. You You have you been dispossessed of your microphone?
>> What's knocking? Is it so difficult to access God? Why are we What's this knocking? So for I mean now I feel like >> okay sorry sorry about you know why I'm I'm doing this the psychology of prayer because you might walk out of this place and someone will say hey what are you talking about is God not sovereign God can do what he wants to do when he wants to do it and nobody will say to him what do thou now I need to equip you with the psychology of prayer so that you know why you are doing what this our argument is going to take us to the three fundamental principles of prayer.
That's what the ancients knew that made them tough. That's what we no longer know that make us like bread. We can't even survive persecution. May the Lord May the Lord help us in the name of Jesus. Yes. Yes. Knock.
>> When you get to the things that you seek, you begin to knock to open and access that thing that you found.
>> Yes. When you get to the things that you seek, you need to knock to access.
I think you have a prayer life the way you're answering this pray these questions are practical questions and if you do not practice prayer you will not have vocabulary no utterance are you there it's not a cerebral question it's it's an organic question okay thank you what's your name >> pamela >> pomela you're welcome so joy you can now take your pistol away from pamela so we have um we have three things here asking seeking and what and what knocking. So we are going to speak extensively on that but that lead list is not exhaustive. So you can ask your prayer, you can seek your prayer, you can knock your prayer, you can fast your prayer, you can praise your prayer.
So so there there are seven but we are not there yet. So the list is not exhausted. Are you there? Yes.
>> Verse eight.
>> Verse eight. For everyone who asks, >> verse eight is the provision upon which the spiritual operations that are recommended rests. This is the foundation. This is the spiritual position of things that makes asking, seeking and knocking possible. You know, I like Jesus. There was no other teacher in the Bible that will say a spiritual thing and then tell you the principle that makes that spiritual thing efficacious. No other person. No other.
So when Jesus tells you gives you a download of spiritual provisions, the subsequent vers will now capture what makes those spiritual provisions a possibility. Are you there? So listen listen eight.
>> For everyone who asks receives.
>> Now so there is a legislation a policy in heaven and the policy states everyone that asks receives. Yes.
>> And he who seeks finds.
>> There is a policy in heaven that says if you seek you will find. Yes. and to him who knocks it will be open.
>> There is a policy in heaven that says if you knock the door will be open. So that policy exists. So Jesus is teaching them how to take advantage of those provisions of those policies. There's no teacher like Jesus. So it means that if you refuse to ask you have decided to short change yourself. If you say no you know my lifestyle is just with numbers.
I'm an accountant. I deal with the numbers. I deal with numbers not with prayers but numbers. Very soon you will find a problem that numbers cannot cure.
I was there. I was there. We were dealing with numbers. We're dealing with figures. We're dealing with volume, you know. We were monitoring the the um oil industry in Nigeria. We were the guys on the field. We were hands on the field.
We were on deck. We were upshore. We were numbers. That's our game until Satan showed up. But that's a story for another day. Numbers, please help me preach. Help me preach. Numbers will not save you. Numbers will not deliver you.
Numbers will not deliver you. Okay, let me tell you one of the stories. We were up. We were on board. We were upshore.
It was like 11:00 p.m. in the night.
That's when water is black. Those of you that know water is black at that time.
So we came for inspection. We we are regulators, government regulators. And part of our duty is fiscalization. We you bring a tanker a vessel. They call them tanker vessels. Those are ships that have tanks. All right. So these ships that have tanks, they are the ships that bring petroleum products through the triple trees into the inlands so that they can pump into tank farms. So we need to go and board them and calculate the number or the volume of products that they carry. We need that calculation and then so that when they finish pumping we can tell if they have some quantity left that they want to divert and then we arrest them.
>> What's the name of that vessel? Oh my god. Grace, empty grace. That's the name of the vessel. Moto tanker grace. The name was gracious for the inhabitants thereof.
Oh my god. Let me leave you. Let me leave you there. That day numbers could not deliver that day. In that day, numbers could not deliver. But it was Jesus. Jesus that now deliver. There was a fight. There was a fight on board. We would have all been killed. And the Lord spoke to me. He said mar straight to that man because one guy broke bottle and he wants to start stabbing people.
He said match straight to him and tap his his his right hand. So I m straight and I tapped his right hand. The guy began to cry. That was how we we numbers did not help that day. Don't may you not have confidence in number. Well I'm alive today. My wife doesn't know this story because if I had told her she would have said CRIED AND SAID RESIGN AND I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT to so don't forget it's empty grace. empty grace.
FOR HE THAT ASKTH receiveth there's a provision in heaven that guarantees that he that seeks he shall find and to him that knocks it shall be. So the question I have for you is won't you ask you will not lose anything ask you will not lose anything seeking but there is a provision that backs it up that makes it efficacious. So Jesus is saying use the provision take advantage of the provision. So that's my business because God said we should take advantage then I make prayer my business. All of these scriptures. Yes, sister. Go on. Go on.
>> Verse 9.
>> Verse 9.
>> For what man is there among you who if his son asks for bread will give him a stone?
>> Okay. Jesus is trying to encourage us even further. He goes beyond telling us that there are provisions in terms of policy that have been established that you can exploit. Imagine that Minnesota says okay if you give birth to a child in Minnesota. I think they have already said that they have free insurance cover. I think they have said that already. So and then my wife now gives birth at home by the Holy Ghost. Never visited. We're trying to go to the hospital but delivery took place at home and because she was well trained she knows what to do and all of that. And then someone is now saying, "Hey, hey, hey, the state has made provision for the total ins health insurance cover for this child up until she's 5 years old.
So you don't need to hide in your room.
Go. And it's free." And someone is still wondering whether to take advantage of it. It's already captured in prophecy.
There's budget that has been raised to support it. And so Jesus is coming to conscientize every Christian. Take. You see, we have a provision. It's obvious you don't know about it. Ask and ye shall receive and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be open not to. Then he now went beyond that point and now started doing a strange kind of comparison. He said, "What man is there among you that his son comes to him and ask him for bread and he gives him a stone?" Are you there? What kind of man is there among you that a son comes asking him for fish and he gives him a serpent? I hope you know that no man among us has that capacity that tendency then Jesus say hold it. If he this this Jesus speaking if he being evil wait I I didn't say that. Okay sister confirm it confirm it.
I didn't say it. It's >> verse 11 goes, "F you then being evil."
>> Stop there, please. Let me show you the the context before somebody cries. The context is fatherhood. Are you there? So when he was saying, "What man among you does his son ask him for bread and he gives him a stone?" So you see his son, the the concept is what? Oh, you are not following. Okay. Because you are not following. Because you are not following. Okay. So So the concept is fatherhood. So it is comparative. This is what Jesus is saying. If ye being evil what he's saying is your model of fatherhood, huh?
As compared to God's model of fatherhood. Now so what we are saying here is comparing human fatherhood with the fatherhood of God. you will conclude that our own fatherhood are even though he gives things he does well our fatherhood compared to God's fatherhood is evil that's what Jesus is saying because I know that pastor Rufus will rise up to the occasion and say as far as he's concerned he is a powerful father and we don't deny that but compared to God what what your model amounts to is evil and I can show you nine symptoms of God's fatherhood which is not in yours you are not capable of it even Though you want to be like that, you are not you are not capable of it. So your own fatherhood compared to the fatherhood of God is evil. And your own fatherhood being evil, he gives good gifts onto your children. So the Bible is now asking how much more will your heavenly father that means in a way you cannot comprehend.
That's how God will do better than your own practice and model of father if you are willing to put him to the test. He did not only reveal the provision that is in heaven according to polity. He also revealed that I'm a better father than any father that you can ever be.
But you will never know until you ask.
So I motivate you today. Let your life be a life of asking. Wake up in the your father is not depleted. Don't pity God and say, "Hey, he gave this one yesterday. He gave the other one. He might be restocking."
Hallelujah. Sister, let's go to James chapter 4, third scripture before we begin philosophical analysis of the subject of prayer. James 4:2, please >> read as you lust and do not have, you murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war, yet you do not have because you do not ask.
>> So, can you see that you do not have because you do not ask. So, let's start our philosophy. You see, we are trying to analyze and ask ourselves very powerful questions. The reason why we are doing this is because Satan will come and ask you the questions. If you refuse to ask them, huh, Satan will ask those questions. So, let us sit down and ask ourselves hard questions. First hard question, why prayer? And you know why I'm asking this question is because of the theory of God's sovereignty.
The theory of what? God's sovereignty.
And uh someone is saying why are you suffering yourself? God is sovereign.
God will do it if he wants to do it and no one will tell God what do thou. So you're going to meet those kind of guys outside of this place. Let's ask the hard questions now and answer them so that when you meet them you will know how to respond because everything is going to fight your commitment to prayer. Satan Satan demons will come and ask you questions. human beings, your friends, your co-workers will like to make you look like a fool so that you no longer have confidence in the things in which you have been instructed. So that's why we want to do this game of philosophy. Why prayer? Are you there?
So let us capture all the questions of philosophy. Can you can you capture the questions? First question still all of these are elaborations of why prayer.
First, why does God need our prayers when we know that God is omnipotent and omnisient? Why does God need our prayers? When we know that God is omnipotent, God is all powerful. God is all knowing. So, why does he need our prayers? So, this is the question that borders on the concept of the sovereignty of God. Now, if you go to theological school and you are not grounded in the truth, we are hoping that eventually we'll set up a theological school right here in the US.
Yes, there's a reason why we want to do it. It's not because we want to number among existing schools.
I will tell you why. When you pass through philosophy, at the end of the day, you you you won't know what you believe again. Now, so we want to take you through the stretch so that you'll be equipped to defend your convictions.
So the first question is why prayer?
If we understand that God is omnipotent and omnisient.
Okay.
Second question. If God never does anything against his will, why does he need us to pray before he performs his counsel?
Second question again. If God never does anything against his will, why does he need us to pray before he performs his counsel? Did you get number two? You still remember number one? Can you read number one to us to our hearing? Good. Number three. Okay. If God never does anything against his will, why does he need us to pray before he performs his counsel? So these are the kind of things you're going to meet in the public space and the the reason why all these questions come is to discourage you from the life of prayer and a lot of people are victims of such philosophies and the questions can come through men or through devils and that's why people have become complacent and they have justified their prayerlessness.
I sorry sorry sorry for the use of the word prayerlessness it is not biblical because according to Jesus the opposite of prayerful is not prayerless but fainting men ought always to pray and not to faint it means if you are not praying you are on life support hanging on the last strand of the mercy of God I I know I know it's not you know sustaining the life of prayer doesn't look intellectual it's not a thing of the mind and I assure you Your mind is weak. Weak.
Your mind is weak.
Once upon a time, I used to be intelligent.
I used to be intelligent some time ago, but I I'm not sure that is still true.
But I was sharp.
I was sharp and proud. And God showed me the futility of human sharpness because when challenges came, practical challenges around my life, all of my intelligence counted for nothing. God used that just to show me the futility of human intelligence.
Are you there? So even with the intelligence right now before I take a decision I go to him because I know that I can't trust that int. He has too many holes in it. It is the school that said you had a distinction not life. You can have a decision in school and uh life dares a terrible blow on you. Are you there?
>> Okay. So second third question third question. Third question. Does it mean that God will rather have his will delayed without and without accomplishment in order to wait for our prayers? I'll read again. Does it mean that God will rather have his will delayed or without accomplishment in order to wait for our prayers? These are the arguments that you're going to have around the subject. Especially when we move into the field. Sister Cynthia, you that you are powerful in evangelism and you move into the field and you're having a discussion with someone and the person brings philosophy.
I say okay uh what's your idea of God?
Is it sovereigny? Then you play into the person's net because the person understands how to argue. You are not trained to argue. You just go with love.
These are the days where we need to be trained armed in the mind and the heart too full of love in order to win our generation because they are lost in the maze of AI. Lost in the maze of coding.
lost in that maze and we will need some intellectual property to be able to bring drowning men out from disaster.
Are you there?
Okay. So, does it mean that God would rather have his will delayed or without accomplishment in order to wait for our prayers? Fourth question. Fourth question is based on the third question.
If so, will not the will of God be limited by us? And if this is true, is God really almighty? If so, will not the will of God be limited by us? And if this is true, is God reallymighty?
So these are philosophical questions.
The reason why I brought this philosophical questions is because before we start building spiritual prayer castles, I need to show you that prayer, the life of prayer, engaging prayer is predicated upon three principles.
You there. The reason why this these questions sound spectacular, sound mentally inviting is because we have not yet looked into the principles of prayer. So these questions now provide an entry point into the three fundamental principles that forms the foundation of the life of prayer. Before we build edififices and indeed we'll build edififices but all of the buildings we'll be doing will be based on the foundation of three fundamental principles and if you get it right today you will get it right for the rest of your life. If you still with me say amen.
>> Amen.
>> Okay. Okay. Who's there? And that's why I asked u my sister to read from Matthew 7:7. Can you do that again sister?
Matthew 7 7 Matthew 7 7 >> Matthew 7:7 reads >> um sister sorry for distracting you for disturbing you but you know we are teaching on prayer and prayer is not just theoretical we should be able to practice it at least for 5 minutes to give courage and hope to everyone that God answers prayer so as the case may be you you know my way I am like Elisha I'm like Elijah I need a min to play an instrument before I can launch into the spirit. Oh, I remember those days. It's 20 something o years ago or thereabout. And the Lord was giving me some insight into how he created me, my wiring by creation. That was why he said you are like Elisha. You will need find don't just play in the flesh. Play play the real thing in the spirit. Okay. All right. Let's do it. Matthew 7:7 >> Matthew 7:7 >> Ask and it will be given to you.
>> Ask and it will be given to you.
>> Seek and you will find >> seek and you will find.
>> Knock and it will be opened to you.
>> Knock and it will be open unto you.
First principle is based on that provision which says God's people must pray before God himself will rise up to work. Are you there? Yeah. So God calls us into what we call a participation.
Are you there? Before Adam was created, you could see that God was exercising his authority. Let there be light. Let there be this. Let there be that. You will notice that God stopped doing that when Adam came into the picture. Think about that. Now God wants to do anything he wants to do with Adam and through Adam and by Adam by supplying into Adam his grace, the supply of his spirit. So God's will is our partnership with him.
You there? So because of this, I don't know if you saw God in your neighborhood and he just said, "Hey, let there be let there be let giraffes come." You you are not going to see him because the moment man came into the picture by a royal decree. He be he defined our jurisdiction. Let us make man in our own image and after our own likeness and let them have dominion. That's a royal decree and he gave us jurisdiction over the earth. So if God wants to walk in the earth, he will need to walk through man to accomplish what he wants to do.
The regime has changed and because of the introduction of man, there is a new way God operates now. He operates in participation with his people. So first principle first principle God's people must pray before God himself will rise up to work.
His will will not it will his will is only to be realized through the prayers of those who belong to him. His will is only to be realized through the prayers of those who belong to him. How many of you still remember the scripture that says if my people can you do you realize that that provision begins with if if my people that means my people may not be interested but if by any means my people are interested my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear from heaven I will forgive their sins and I will do what? I'll heal the land. So in this day, God will accomplish what he wants to accomplish with his people. If there are a set of people that have not yet heard the gospel, the way God is expecting to take the gospel to them is through the vessels of men. He will stir up the hearts of men to be burdened about those people and he will move all the people that are willing to that land. And as they begin to preach the gospel, God will begin to manifest significantly. God wants to participate and to partner with man. So man is called to be a partaker on the things that God wants to implement. Before man came, there was a way God operated. Now that man is on the scene, there is a way God is going to operate. And he chooses to operate through participation. Are you there? His people. His people.
That's why Satan knows if he wants to delay God's plans, all he needs to do is to distract the people of God so that the people of God are preoccupied maybe in counting money, preoccupied in attending functions and they they relegate the place of prayer. So God's agenda will be slowed down. God's agenda will not come to pass at God's intent because the body of Christ that is supposed to be the implementation arm of the kingdom of God, participation arm, sorry, of the kingdom of God is asleep.
They are not awake to God's urgent desires. It is by participation. That's the first principle. Second principle, Matthew 18:18. Sister, Matthew 18:18.
>> 18. I don't know those of you that preach the gospel. Have you been to a place before? You preached and you preached and got moved and then you went to preach in another place and the place was flat. You couldn't even find your altars. You couldn't find your tone. You struggled throughout. You shouted but there was nothing. So the first place you went through that there was a move of God. The people prayed.
They asked God to visit. They asked God to move. So you became a vessel. God God. Yes. you all the prayers that they offered you became the conduit through which those prayers could be answered.
So a strange anointing that you you don't know anything about began to manifest through your life. That was what it was when we went to a place in Ghana called Tema. The people pray a lot and I didn't know I was tired. I was tired. I done so many meetings and I couldn't escape that meeting because of the relationship I have with the pastor.
But I tell you, I was tired. I didn't even have a message. But when I got into the place, it was as if an electric cable.
The utterance that came that day, I I was like an oracle. I left the place and I said, "Lord, what's happening here?
What's going on?" No, they prayed. He has nothing to do with me. The volume of prayer was heavy. And since I was a vessel through which all of those prayers will be downloaded, I had to be brought to a spiritual level to accommodate the tank of prayer they have accumulated.
I was dangerous that uh night but I knew it was not by power. It was not by might. It had nothing to I know I wasn't prepared. So it was their prayer that created that possibility. And then I went to another place. No prayer on ground. They just had everywhere was just the colors were just blended. The place was fine. The light were were doing like this. But the Holy Ghost was far away. Those are the places after you minister you need a chiropractor to fix your your spinal cord back. May the Lord give you understanding.
Matthew 18:18. Second principle.
>> Assurely I say to you, >> Surely I say to you, >> whatever you bind on earth, >> whatever you bind on earth >> will be bound in heaven.
>> will be bound in heaven. Okay. The second, no, no, no, just 18. The second principle is that earth controls heaven.
In prayer engagements, in prayer possibilities, the initiative must begin on earth. And so you will notice that in that provision that Jesus made in the book of Matthew chapter 18, he said whatsoever you bind where where do you need to be? Earth. You're not with me.
They didn't say transport to heaven and then bind it. He said whatsoever you bind where. So earth must take the initiative. Earth must begin the journey. Earth must begin the investment. Earth must begin the initiative. And then when heaven sees that earth is serious about it, they're insisting on it. Then heaven now approves it. Then the allocation from heaven now begins to minister into the earth to accomplish it. That is why my own definition of prayer, there are so many definitions. My own definition of prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference. Earthly permission.
So earth controls heaven. Heaven is a is a ground of so many resources. But those resources are not available until earth takes the initiative.
Sister, nothing will happen except you move. The resources are there. Not in doubt. Every promise that God made is a true promise. But except you take a step, the fountains of the great deep will not open. The windows of heaven will not be broken. Hallelujah.
So once upon a time, we were sent to a place, a nation place. The heavens were locked. Completely locked. And I'm talking about the place where we are going for the international eagles conference. It was a locked city.
The terrain was locked. The land of witches, the land of warlocks. strange warlocks. Witchcraft was so entrenched that the culture itself was witchcraft.
The culture of the people.
It was designed to inhabit and to transmit witchcraft from generation to generation.
And if you like me were privileged to school in such a place, you already be bumping into people that are spiritually mighty from the kingdom of darkness as your classmates.
People that if the teacher decides to discipline, you you guys don't know what discipline is in school.
Oh, so so those those all of them that school in Africa they can sit here for 10 hours. Yes, they are this they were made to be like that because of the system.
The teacher is a big guy. He can flog you and nothing will happen.
So but God help you when you become when you a teacher and you flog the wrong person that is a master warlock.
Oh, supernatural things take place. You will hear someone tell the teacher. You will see in the morning and the next day the teacher is down and the person will be appearing to the teacher in the dream. I'm the one responsible and me don't try. The teacher will need to send to the person take money give that person and plead before they he calls the spare back.
How do you survive in such a place? It's already rigged because people are using supernatural power to so can you fail such a person if you are a teacher and you don't have what it takes you give them pass quick pass and things will continue that way until a man of prayer arrives.
So I always ask are you the one who is to come or should we expect another until a man of prayer arises darkness will have the day warlocks will have the day but I like seeing wicked people humbled yes I like it it's it's it's a you don't do that by speaking you do that by prayer began to pray and then the place began to open I saw the wonders of the prayer of the prayer power manifest in that land. I saw people that were early widows. They killed their husbands early young ladies and they refused to remarry and they gave themselves to prayer and they became giants. I saw the word of God prevail and it become effectual in the lives of men. I saw how even the territory the hold of witchcraft on the land broke.
I saw how we grew from in spiritual infants and even though we were infants, they could not kill us. The witches could not kill us. We were growing. We we were zealous for God. We had no knowledge but we just loved God. I saw that you don't need to know too much but you need to love much. And the hand of God began to raise us. Began to raise us. And we are still alive today because the power that is in prayer is stronger than witchcraft.
Principle number three, man is required to express his willingness to see the implementation of God's will through prayer in order to see God's hand in manifestation.
Can we jump to the book of Matthew? Let me read again. Man is required to express his willingness to see the implementation of God's will through prayer in order to see God's hand in manifestation.
So it is a call. Prayer is first a call.
Come partner with me. That's what God is whispering. Come partner with me to implement my will in your life. to implement my will through your life.
Come partner with me. And I'm echoing that whisper tonight with the hope that you will hear and you will heed the call.
Come, come, come, come, come. I like the book of Revelation chapter 4 said, "After these things, I saw a door open in heaven and I heard a voice. The voice said to me, "Come up hither." That's the call to participate.
It's the call to engage, the call to pray, call to take sides with God so that his will can come to pass. The place of man is to align with God's will. Oh, that's the greatest honor. He gives us an invitation to become participants in the implementation of his will. Is a great call, is a great privilege. So he calls you tonight to STAND FOR HIM. NOTHING IS LIKELY to happen until you heed, until you hear, until you answer. For everyone that askketh receive it. And to him that seeketh, he shall find. And to him that knockketh it shall be open. Now I would like to end with this scripture in the book of Matthew chapter 6. Matthew chapter 6.
Matthew chapter 6 verse 10. It's a powerful scripture.
It's a scripture to memorize and never forget. What does it say? Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is done in heaven. Can you see that if we do not cry, thy kingdom come, even though the will of God is established in the heavens, it might be delayed upon the face of the earth. Your reluctance can only make God's purposes delay, but he cannot deny it. Because if you refuse to call, he will wipe all of us out and raise our children. And our children will be better than we are. So it is a privilege when you heed the call. When you hear the call, heed. He without you, without me, he will still find men to stand on the mountaintop and lift their hands and say, "Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven." So that's the place of man. That's the highest call of man. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
That city was locked and we began to intercede. We opened our sanctuary. When God gave us little resources, we built something at least to be protected from the elements. The summer of Africa, the everlasting summer of Africa.
How? Please. Um 43° centigrade.
Calculate it in Fahrenheit. Give me Give me Fahrenheit. The Fahrenheit fig. 43° centiggrade. What's that in Fahrenheit?
What? Don't give me an estimate.
Calculate it. Calculate it. It's 105.
Huh? 105. Can you imagine? 105 Fahrenheit. 109. Yeah. That's what we're talking about. It's an everlasting summer. Yeah. The winter is blotted out completely. It's summer from start to finish. Oh my god. That's why the apple plant cannot survive there. it the rays will drain it. It will kill it. There are several types of trees that can survive. Even this your plants this one these are weak woods. The real wood is the one that has been textured by summer mahogany. Even the what they call this in the beetles cannot eat it. It's too bitter. It's summer that made it like that. So we found shade. We we built and covered the place and the day we the last roofing sheet hit the place and we found shade. That was all we needed to begin our oh my god may that's how we saw the neighborhood was rigged the people there were rebels against God rebel they would sit down mocking us when we are speaking hey what's that these people are drunk oh they they are witches they are witches they are witches yeah that so we had to learn how to ignore them they will they will come out they will stay far and be watching us do you know what happened most of those guys our pastors now. I don't even know when they came and they MORE THEY MORE RADICAL THAN WE ARE. THEY'RE MORE RADICAL. I saw prayer break the cult in the neighborhood. I saw prayer break the darkness in the neighborhood and the the young men were filled with the Holy Ghost. I saw prayer DO MIRACLES. I SAW prayer until one day we called for a service and when we gathered the hall was too small. We we used the overflow it was too small. We had to block the road. Have you heard of that? We blocked the road and connected speakers and took wine to our neighbors and said, "The Lord desires the road."
We took wine, too.
The Lord needs the road. Oh my God. Oh my God. The road blocked and all kinds of things. When I we came late that day because I flew in, we traveled from another village and when I got home, my wife was waiting for me. So I changed and from village clothes to the clothes that I can preach with and we came late.
I saw the road filled. I almost cried because I know that street Satan was king in that street. I know it. But today people are not gathering in the name of Satan. They are gathering in the name of Jesus.
That was a little encouragement that God showed us and I say I will die to see that everyone has an opportunity to drink of this drink that is drink indeed.
It was from that place that the Lord said I I need a sanctuary. I need a cathedral in the heart of this land as a sign that I want to come dwell among my people. I said Lord but we only have 5 million naira in the account and we'll go from that place to build a building.
many billions of Nigerian naira from nothing in the heart of poverty poverty. Those were the days when government was owing 8 month salary.
Have you heard of that before?
Government owing people was in that poverty that God raised that cathedral.
And by the time we began to to release prayers there, release prayers there, release prayers there. You will see you will see the videos for those of you that will not come. The place is too small.
We have to move all the cars out. The open field people need and they are not there in the name of Satan, in the name of witches, in the name of wizard. They are there in the name of Jesus.
So that which I've seen that is what I proclaim to you. But our God answers prayer. Can you rise? Let us pray. He needs man in the equation. He needs man in the equation. He needs you in the equation. There's a great responsibility that is hanging on your shoulders. You are his agent. You are his man. You are his woman. It is by your hand. He will stretch forth his hand. When you stretch forth your hand, then he will stretch forth his hand. We will not faint. We will not be weary. Our strength is renewed in our vessel. For our God is not a man that he should lie, neither is he the son of man that he should repent.
His name and his word is yay and amen.
We lift up our eyes onto the heels. From whence cometh our help, our help cometh from the Lord, the one that made heaven and earth. Somebody lift up your eyes.
Everything that God has told you, it shall come to pass. What he said about your health, it shall come to pass. What he said about your finances, it shall come to pass. What he said about your marriage, it shall come to pass. It shall come to pass. So we team up tonight to move his hand. Oh my God. You can trust him. You can believe on him.
He will do exceeding abundantly above that which you can ask or think.
Yes, it will not be long and you will sing the victor song. It will not be long and you will raise your hands and say of a truth as the Lord helped us. It will not be long.
It will not be long and your story will change and the burden will be lifted from off your shoulders and the yoke will be lifted from up your necks and the yoke shall be destroyed by the anointed. It will not be long and you will tell your own story. It will not be long and men will hear your voice. You will not be silent forever. For our God is a prayer answering God.
It will not be long and you will see the light shining on your ways. Our God is good and his mercies endure forever. Our God is faithful. You can trust him. You can count on him. You can depend on him.
You can trust him.
You can trust him. You can believe in him. You can depend on him. He will cause your face to shine. Oh my God. The Bible says they looked unto him and were radiant and their faces were not ashamed.
He will cause your face to shine.
