Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, criticized the US-backed Gaza peace proposal during a UN Security Council session, arguing that the plan offers Palestinians economic incentives like beach resorts and jobs in exchange for abandoning their long-promised statehood, while noting that despite a ceasefire announcement in October 2025, violence has continued with hundreds of casualties reported.

“Beach Resorts Instead of Statehood”: Russia’s Nebenzya Rips US-Backed Gaza Proposal | APTIndexado:
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, launched a sharp criticism of the US-backed Gaza peace proposal during a UN Security Council session, accusing Washington of offering Palestinians economic incentives such as “beach resorts, skyscrapers and jobs” in exchange for abandoning their long-promised statehood. He argued that the plan lacks concrete political commitments and warned that decades of unresolved conflict have eroded trust in such promises. Nebenzya also claimed that despite a ceasefire announcement in October 2025, violence in Gaza has continued, with hundreds of casualties reported. He further alleged that key elements of the ceasefire framework, including humanitarian access and governance transition, remain unimplemented. The war in Gaza, which erupted after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, has since resulted in massive casualties on both sides, according to figures cited in the report. His remarks come amid renewed international debate over the future of Gaza’s governance and reconstruction, as diplomatic efforts continue under a US-brokered framework aimed at stabilising the region. #russia #UN #gaza #apt Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpLEtz3H0jSfEneSdf1YKnw/join
Israel's demand for the release of all hostages and the return of the bodies of the deceased was fully met.
The release of several Palestinians was also achieved. At the same time, the points of the plan regarding a ceasefire, sending full-scale humanitarian aid to the enclave, transferring control of the sector to the Palestinian technocratic committee, and deploying international stabilization forces, not to mention the ambassadors, turning Gaza into a Middle Eastern Riviera with Miracle Cities, breathing new life into it, and creating a special economic zone, were unfulfilled.
In reality, since the announcement of the ceasefire on October 10th, 2025, in Gaza, literally every day peaceful Palestinians are being killed under Israeli fire.
More than 880 people have been killed and over 2,600 injured. According to the UN OHCHR, most of them were killed by sniper bullets or by mines placed in areas accessing water sources. There is an actual hunt for Palestinian law enforcement officers. By the way, in the Peace Council report, the issue of responsibility and the number of ceasefire violations is elegantly avoided. The American plan for Gaza contains no specific political commitments to the Palestinians themselves. The Palestinians, exhausted by decades of bloody conflict, are cynically tempted with beautiful images of beach resorts, skyscrapers, and promises of jobs. This is in exchange for their own state, promised to the international community more than 70 years ago. But such promises are no longer believed. Israel, having international obligations to assist UNRWA, not only openly violates them, but also takes provocative steps.
On May 17th at the site of the recently demolished UNRWA headquarters in East Jerusalem, the Israeli government intends to build a museum for the Israel Defense Forces and a recruitment center.
We support the UN Secretary General's statement with strong condemnation of such a decision and a call to return the complex to the international organization. The UNRWA buildings in East Jerusalem.
There is also information about the revision of the plan according to which Gaza was supposed to come under the control of the national committee for the administration of Gaza during the transitional period.
