Suspect in UW student stabbing surrendersIndexed:
A judge found probable cause for first-degree murder and set bail at $10 million for a man suspected of stabbing a UW student to death.
The U Dub student who was killed at an off-campus housing complex on Sunday night was stabbed 40 times. Some of the new details are coming out today as we have a suspect in custody. A man, 31 years old, walked into the Bellevue Police Department Wednesday night with his parents and his attorney and turned himself in. He was booked into the King County Jail and Thursday afternoon, he went before a judge. A judge found probable cause for first-degree murder and set bail at $10 million.
Now, prosecutors must file charges by Monday. Documents are giving some more details about the timeline in this case.
It does note that there were multiple witnesses that say they saw someone matching the suspect's description on campus. The suspect himself did not say anything in court today. He was represented by an attorney and we will be watching to see what those formal charges are when Monday comes around.
