[00:00:00]In 1925, Dr. Ossian Sweet bought a house in a white neighborhood in Detroit. He was a black physician. He had every legal right to live there. The night he moved in, a mob formed outside. Rocks came through the windows. Someone inside the house fired back. A white man in the crowd was killed. Ossian Sweet was arrested. His wife was arrested. His brother was arrested. All 11 people inside the house were charged with murder. The NAACP hired Clarence Darrow to defend them. Darrow stood before that jury and asked one question.
