This video effectively demonstrates how professional-grade tools can be harnessed for meaningful ecological restoration rather than just aesthetic maintenance. It’s a compelling look at responsible land stewardship that prioritizes native biodiversity over invasive convenience.

It ALL has to Go! My property is covered in Noxious Weeds!Indexé :
I start to remove Privet from my property and use the Hansa C13 to chip it all up! Today's going to be a semi-transformational day, I hope anyway. Um this has been something I've been not really putting off. I've just had a lot of other stuff to do around here, but let's get this fire started to start with.
We are right on the bush here, which I love, and I don't want to get rid of. Uh we do have some noxious weeds in there, which I'll show you shortly.
Um also got a full drum from about 6 months ago that need to get rid of, but with the noxious weeds we are going to be chipping them up with the Hansa C13.
I love towing that thing around. So, chipper's going to be fed here. I'll put I've got some bags to um fill up. Just want to get this thing cranking.
There's lots of little sticks and stuff in there that we could probably chip up, but it would be nice to have a little fire down here. And all this is like dry and seasoned stuff.
So, I really haven't shown you this area of the property, mainly because I pretty much destroyed it.
Uh and it has been a low priority for me. The reason it was semi-destroyed was partially this thing here, the tank. That's a 47,000 L water water tank, which I use for irrigation. Uh not drinking water or anything, it's just for irrigation. But in order to be able to use the water that's in there, I needed electricity to be able to pump the water to other places on the property.
Um and where a couple hundred meters from where electricity was, so that meant that needed to run a big long trench.
Um pretty much the length of the property, which was not fun, mainly because the ground is basically this stuff.
So, the trench was done.
Lots of rock like there were sections where it was just pure sandstone, um and just made an absolute mess. Not only made a a mess where the trench was, but then to the side of the trench, and then there's just rocks and stuff everywhere. It's now after regular mowing, I probably only started mowing this maybe 6 weeks ago, not even. Um and we've got some decent for what it was. Like it it it all literally looked like this for the best part of a year, which was not nice, but um now you look down here and it's started to fill out nicely. So now it's semi-inspired me to try and get this area uh in a nicer looking condition.
Now while I did run the power, I also ran fiber optic cable um and because of that I'll go through this whole system at some stage. It won't be of interest to everyone, but uh I have a wireless access point down here now. So I've got perfect internet the whole property um as well as cameras and stuff, which just means there's a lot of flexibility around here. Um so yeah, I've got power, internet, and water all the way down the back here, which is lovely. Got a tap there, but the area does look very untidy. I want to clean all of this up.
Just reduce some of these branches along the ground here. I'll plant this out at some stage, but I want to reduce all of this so we can actually get some plants in there and they'll get some sunshine and potentially grow. Same for here, you can see how dense it is. Feel like that if that was planted out with native grasses or something, it'd look really nice.
There's a lot of rock there. I think it's like a rock shelf.
Fire's going.
But then we come down here behind the tank and initially uh we have native stuff, but then we just get to this thick wall of privet, which is a noxious weed, and it has just overtaken pretty much everything here. You can see it's this one that's not a very healthy trunk.
It's obviously got some sort of disease, I I assume.
Um but yeah, all of that is weed and it suppresses all of the native stuff.
There's more here.
It just grows so aggressively here.
That's privet. That's privet. That's privet.
That's not. That's privet there, which is probably 8 m tall.
That's a massive privet tree there. Um there's some other weeds. I want to whip a snipper along the bank there.
Basically, there's just a lot of work to do. And uh you can watch me do it if you want. I I want to yeah, start clearing out the privet. I'm going to chop it and paint the stump, so hopefully it doesn't come back. And then we're going to blitz it up in the Hansa C13 chipper.
It's really going to open up this area and hopefully give the natives a bit more of a chance. So, yeah, that's what I'm doing today. I should probably get to work.
>> [music] >> This stuff's not fun.
I'm trying to paint it as quickly as I can after I cut it, which is going to yield the best result. Uh look how long these things are.
So much of it all through there, too.
It's going to be nice to get rid of it.
I'm not going to attack it all today.
This is just the start of it cuz I want to clean up this bank as well.
Um but I'm going to rip in with the chipper now cuz I want to see what sort of volume of, uh, green waste we get from, uh, >> [sighs] >> one plant.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> I don't want to overfill these bags cuz then they just get impossible to move.
That's probably 2/3 full.
Already very heavy to move.
And we got just about all of that in there.
Very easy to get the, um, branches and everything in, but once you get to the end and all this fluffy stuff, uh, you really need to stick to push it down to get the blades on the flywheel to really suck it in.
Um, this is a big job. Not something that is going to be finished today. This is going to be, um, an ongoing ongoing project.
It's pretty much as far as the eye can see.
Just like a free mode Friday job. I'm just taking it one bite at a time. So, I'm just working on this little section here.
We'll get that cleared up. That'll open things up because in there used to look like that as well. And I know on camera that probably looks better, but this stuff just suffocates everything else out, including the natives, which is not what we want.
We want a nice native bush.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> I don't know if it shows how sloppy it is here. Makes it a little bit awkward getting around. Lots of leaf litter.
Let's open that little section there up quite a bit.
I'll chip up all of that.
And then I might just move to start cleaning up sort of the some of the dead debris there.
Here, getting this area sort of clean.
Oh, that's a relief.
>> [sighs and gasps] >> I love that.
So, we've filled I'd say filled three-quarter filled two of these bags just with all that.
Just shows how much this blitzes it up into, which I love.
Also shows how much of a task this actually is.
I think that'll be the chipping portion for the day done. It's misting rain, and I don't want internally everything to get filthy on this. There's still a lot I can do on the bank here. Some really old dry stuff we can chuck in the drum. That bank is screaming to be whipper snippered. Just some general tidying.
I feel like this is going to be really good for this area.
Just getting all this stuff up, letting it breathe, hopefully letting new stuff germinate.
>> [music] [music] >> I'm well aware that it probably looks like I'm just trying to destroy the bush here, but the only stuff I'm taking out is stuff that is dead or noxious weeds.
Because I actually want to rejuvenate this, but as I said, with native stuff.
Um, it's actually your responsibility on your property to um take care of, remove, or kill noxious weeds. So, um I'd never be able to do the whole property here, but I'm going to try and do my bit, make as much as I can more native.
Very different. So much junk in here. I might get rid of that last privet. I say that last privet. That last privet that's just on this little shelf here. That'll really That'll really open this bit here up.
Um, but first I'll um, just try and get the chainsaw on a couple of those dead ones and take them up the top.
>> I don't think this is the best advertisement for this chainsaw. I actually really like it, but because I've been just using it and abusing it and haven't even touched up the chain on free mode Fridays and some stuff I've been doing here, um it needs a bit of attention. Yeah, this thing seems like a little ripper. I'm no chainsaw expert, but um it gets the job done for me.
All right, I don't want to get too deep in here, otherwise it just never ends. I don't know if you can see on camera, but this is some lantana.
That's at the neighbor's. I'm going to uh get rid of that at some point as well.
If lantana gets out of control, it is uh I don't know. I don't even know how to put it. It's It's just terrible.
>> [music] >> All right, I lied. Just a little bit more chipping.
All right, that'll do for today. I've put a little bit of a dent in it. It's starting to look okay.
Clear, anyway.
If you got any tips for rejuvenating Australian native bush, let me know.
More than happy to uh listen to your advice. This is just one very small project on this property. I've got so much going on, and we're going to be building a house here soon. If you do like what's going on, make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss the next video. Uh I'm just going to sit by this thing and have a beer.
