This Star Citizen Battle Felt Like a Movie

[00:00:00]Most people experience Star Citizen with maybe two or three friends. Meanwhile, the Star Memers showed up [music] with over 20 people, fully crewed ships, fighters everywhere, and enough bad decisions to qualify as a military [music] incident. And somehow, what started as defending an Idris, turned into one of the coolest operations I've ever experienced in a space game.

[00:00:20]Although, for some of us, the operation went better than others.

[00:00:24]This is a tactical strike group.

[00:00:29]So, the plan was simple. Head out to the tactical strike group and protect the Idris while the operation unfolded. We had well over 20 Star Memers show up for this run. Fully crewed Perseus's, tons of fighters, and people everywhere just ready for some chaos. And honestly, at first, it felt easy.

[00:00:50]We had our friendly [music] Idris that needed some protection, and the Star Memers brought the firepower. Enemy fighters kept swarming the Idris, but honestly, they never stood a chance.

[00:01:01]Everything was clicking. Every fighter was covering angles. Perseus crews were absolutely deleting targets. Total chaos, but organized chaos. No way it did. Costaia, probably not there yet.

[00:02:57]Then once we cleared out the fighters, it was time to hit the station.

[00:03:09]Once we did, it was time to run the trenches.

[00:03:13]This This was the moment. This felt like every dream space battle I've ever had as a kid. One by one we lined up and started making our runs into the trench trying to reach the core.

[00:04:19]Okay. Well, maybe not. Turns out trench runs are significantly harder when you pilot like a shopping cart with engine boosters strapped to it. But eventually, we started figuring out. Trench was chaos and ships were exploding everywhere. Pilots slamming into walls, everyone yelling in comms.

[00:06:04]I'm on my back, boys. It looks so cinematic. But somehow we got down to the last core cooler and destroyed it.

[00:06:13]Only problem it was basically a one-way trip for me.

[00:07:25]With the trenches complete, we got word that there was still a pilot trapped inside the facility and one thing about the Star Mariners is we don't leave people behind. So, we stacked up and headed down. Now, before we took the elevator down, we were actually waiting for our friend Tweets to to But let's just say he wasn't exactly prepared.

[00:07:44]No armor, no real suit, just a flight suit and confidence. The memer way.

[00:09:04]Suddenly, the rescue mission became significantly less important.

[00:09:21]We started loading up on components and gear while everyone screamed about who found what.

[00:09:26]And while [music] we were down there in the station looting everything up, little did we know there was some chaos unfolding up in space.

[00:09:36]See, the Perseus crew had to take out some Hammerheads and other big ships.

[00:09:40]And then, they had to escort our new pilot friend to some friendly space.

[00:09:45]But, it wasn't over yet.

[00:09:54]Just then, we heard over the radio the Mauler was here. Big alien spaceship, massive threat, looked terrifying. And the Perseus crews absolutely folded it.

[00:11:07]At this point, the operation was basically over. We loaded everything into the C2 and started heading back toward the Stanton Gateway.

[00:11:15]But, on the way home, I started thinking. We had over 20 people here. We didn't need this many people just to run one tactical strike group. What if we split up? What if instead of one operation, the Star Runners started running multiple operations all at the same time?

[00:11:32]So, I messaged the captains and we got to work. Because this This is what Star Citizen is really about. Not grinding credits, not chasing medicines, not playing alone. It's the stories. It's the chaos. It's the moments you remember because of a group of players who somehow pulled something insane off together. Welcome to the Star Memer Org operations.
