Blackpool Pleasure Beach is developing new attractions including a Star Flyer type ride and a swing ride that throws visitors over the sea. There is also a cage ride with elastic elements. These new attractions are part of the competition between Blackpool's major entertainment venues, with Amanda Thompson from Pleasure Beach reportedly commenting on the developments. This demonstrates how entertainment venues continuously innovate to attract visitors.

New Attractions for Blackpool本站收录:
An update on the new attractions at South Shore Blackpool.
Welcome to another video. Welcome to Wild Side and I'm here in Blackpool. Just a quick video this one really. Bit of a filler video this one actually. Yeah.
I'm just across the road from the Velvet Coaster. I'm in the South Shore area here. South Shore. Looking pretty quiet.
Um it's about half past eight in the evening and uh I thought I'd nip out and see if I can catch the sunset, but it is looking a little bit cloudy.
Let's have a little look over there. Can you see that there? It is looking a little bit cloudy.
So anyway, uh yeah. I thought I'd just nip out and do a quick video. I've just been in the Velvet Coaster actually. Had my tea in there. I had a jacket potato and beans.
It was quite nice actually.
And by the way, I just want to thank all the new subscribers. I've I've got quite a few new subscribers in the last month or so. Yeah. I'm I'm I'm going pretty well at the moment and I just want to if there's anyone out there who isn't subscribed, hit the subscribe button cuz it doesn't cost anything. If you like videos of Blackpool and sometimes beyond, hit the subscribe button.
But anyway, I've had a few people ask me about what's going on around here. We've got an upside down house that's under construction. I've not looked at that for a while. And we've also got this place over here next to the Velvet Coaster which is is is an area of land that's been a bit of a wasteland really and they're turning it into some sort of outdoor fancy food court thing. So we'll go and check that out, shall we?
>> [music] [music] >> So I'm just here by the Grosvenor Casino. I'll tell you what, this place here is pretty popular.
I don't know how late it's open, but uh there's always cars going in and out.
Look at this here. Look, taxis and cars going in and out there all all day whenever it's open.
And I've heard they've got a nice restaurant in there as well. I might have to check it out sometime. But anyway, there's the Velvet Coaster there, where probably Blackpool's everybody's favorite Wetherspoon's in Blackpool.
Used to be the Lucky Star Amusements, of course. Remember the Lucky Star?
And uh they were featured on a TV show.
I think it was just called Blackpool.
The one with Was it David Morrissey or Neil Morrissey or or someone.
Uh but anyway, I think we'll just go and have a little nosey over there, shall we? And see what's going on because it's supposed to be coming. It says on the sign there, summer 2026.
South Beach Street Food. Let's go and take a closer look.
I've actually been in there in the in the casino. I went in, but it wasn't open. I actually went in because I went onto the roof of the Sand Castle to take a photograph for for Visit Blackpool.
That was quite a long time ago.
Yeah, I was taking a picture for Visit Blackpool of the Illuminations, and I had to go on the roof to do it. But anyway, I'm just going to head across the road, across the tram tracks, should I say?
And then across the road. There's a Blackpool Tower. We'll get a look at that in a minute. I'm using my phone for this video, which actually, I think the phone does a really good job. Let me know what you think. Uh I've got a new camera. It's a DJI Osmo Pocket 4.
And I'm having a few problems with it.
You know, it's got a gimbal on the top.
Well, it seems to have a mind of its own, and it doesn't seem to straighten up properly.
And also, I'm not too happy with the sound. If you watch my video, Satan's high tide video with the pier.
If you watch that, I thought the sound on that was terrible. So, yeah, I've got a few issues with it at the moment. But anyway, let's go and check out this place over there, shall we? Just looking towards the Pleasure Beach there.
They'll be opening that new ride soon.
Yeah.
A bit tasty.
Let's have a little look at the Sand Castle there. There you go. Sand Castle. Let's see if we can have a little nosey through the fence and see what's going on here.
Right, so what can you see?
I've nothing to squeeze my phone through this little gap in the fence. Well, a bit more going on than last time I came cuz there wasn't much going on here last time.
So, they've got a couple of diggers in.
What they're going to do is put a load of containers in here, a bit like Bonnie Street, you know, Bonnie Street Market.
But, they're going to stack some of them on top of each other.
And it's going to be some fancy outdoor eating area. That's the Travelodge Hotel over there.
So, yeah.
A bit more a bit more going on this time. But, uh I'll tell you what, if it's going to be opening in summer, they've got a lot of work to do.
It doesn't look like we're going to get a decent [clears throat] You never know, it might just peek out at the end.
Sometimes when you get cloudy skies in Blackpool just before sunset, if the sun does happen to peek out right at the end, it can be spectacular because the the clouds can really light up. I'm just going to have a look around the other side to see if we can see a bit more.
Right, so we're now looking from this side here.
And uh I hope I don't drop my phone cuz if I do, well, I'll have a bit of a struggle getting it back because I'm just managing to hang on to it here as I hold it through the fence. So, this is where we're up to with the South Beach Street Food.
Yeah, there you go. Summer 2026, South Beach Street Food.
And uh that's what it's going to look like.
There you go.
So, we're now looking at the entrance to the Sand Castle. You know, I'm actually surprised that all these windows here are all original from 1986. They haven't changed these windows here. It looked a bit like one of those fancy office blocks when they first built it before they put all the rest of the stuff on it like the slides and everything.
And then they added this fancy sign here.
Yeah.
But it's a good place.
Now those of you that watch my channel for quite a while will know that I don't tend to go to a lot of these attractions in Blackpool. I didn't go up the tower for 40 years and I don't go to the Pleasure Beach very often. And the last time that I went in here to the Sandcastle was to see the Tom O'Connor road show.
Who remembers the Tom O'Connor road show? That was the last time I went in here.
I wonder if you need to be a specialist stature to make these. What do you reckon?
Hey.
Anyway, if you're interested £25.50 or pay Oh, you have to pay more if you're paying on the door. So if you're paying in advance So it's cheaper to pay in advance, isn't it?
Yeah, but that's the prices for Blackpool Sandcastle Water Park. I'm not a I'm not a water person me. I'm scared of water so I don't I don't go for water parks.
But anyway, I'm going to head over to the other side of the South Pier and we'll check out what's going on with the the upside down house cuz I've not been there for a while so let's go and see where they're up to. Any chance of the sun coming out?
So I'm now at the South Pier. You can see the flags are are blowing. We've got a southerly wind.
It's it's not too bad. It's warming up a bit. Blackpool is warming up.
Yeah, we're going to be in the 20s next week. The arcade is is closed at the South Pier now.
So, it is looking pretty quiet around here.
Pablo's is shut as well over there, look. And you see that building there?
That one there, that is where the Lucky Star moved to after it closed here.
So, the Lucky Star moved over to there.
But now, that's shut. So, we've got no Lucky Star Amusements.
But anyway, we'll carry on and we'll check out the upside down house. It looks like this pretty much finished the outside.
Hello.
What's going on here?
Don't tell me I've I've come out during a police incident.
I mean, the last time I came down this way, we had a they were chasing after some lad on an e-bike, weren't they? And they caught him.
I managed to catch up with him. But anyway, uh >> [clears throat] >> This is where we're up to with the upside down house. I'll just go It's the beauty of the iPhone is that you can go wide angle, can't you? So, there you go.
We're pretty much uh That's the entrance there, look. They've got a turnstile.
And uh you can go up the windy staircase there.
Uh what?
Got a big inflatable here that they they have at the weekend, don't they?
They've got a big truck here. They're supposed to be putting a big ride in here. They have I think they got planning permission to put like, you know, like a Star Flyer type ride.
And something else, but I think uh Amanda Thompson was kicking off about it, you know, from the Pleasure Beach.
Because they're competing, aren't they?
But they have got these, right? Look at them there, look.
They've got the big swing ride thing, you know, the one that throws you out over the sea.
And that that one that with the elastic thing where you go in a cage, mental.
Right, let's have a look around this side, shall we? There you go.
Let's get a shot of it with Blackpool Tower. There you go, the upside down house, the new attraction here in Blackpool just by the South Pier.
I just got a wave off the copper in the car there. He recognized me.
Yeah.
So, anyway, it does look like it's It actually looks really nice, actually. Sometimes I like the gray, you know? I do like the gray.
There seems to be a heck of a lot of seagulls down here for some reason. Not sure.
I think they're just sleeping. What do you reckon?
But it does Yeah, I don't think we're going to get a sunset.
So, there you go.
Can you hear the sea?
Wouldn't you just love to be here in Blackpool right now?
I almost forgot to bring you a decent close-up of Blackpool Tower, but there you go, Blackpool Tower.
It's a beacon of hope.
Well, Greasy Joe's is open.
Greasy Joe's burger bar, established 40 years.
I think they need a new sign. You can hardly read it.
Right, okay, I'll leave it there now.
Just a bit of a quick one, really.
From South Shore, Blackpool. Looking pretty quiet.
Um not quite as dead as that video. Remember that video I did the other week where I said Blackpool was dead? Oh my goodness.
It was like the apocalypse.
Honestly, uh yeah, but there is signs of life around.
Yeah, I'm sure that the crowds will be back when we get the holidays and and the weekend and that, but during the week at the moment it is a little bit quiet, but uh I'm sure we'll survive. But anyway, that's it for this video. If you like the video, hit the like button and also hit subscribe and tick the bell for notifications of new videos, and I'll see you again on the next one.
