My name is Lesie Murphy and I'm the director of career and technical education for Slair County RHSA. I'd like to welcome you to the 2026 St. Clair Tech Certification Ceremony.
Before we begin, would everyone please turn off your cell phones or switch them to vibrate?
If you are able, please stand for the pledge of allegiance.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. You may be seated.
Before we begin our program, we want to welcome and recognize the parents and family members of our students who are being honored this evening. We know that your support and guidance have played a significant role in their success.
Students, please help me in welcoming your guests.
With me on stage is our superintendent of Sinclair County Resa, Mrs. Brenda Tenniswood, and our tech administrative team. At this time, Mrs. Tenniswood would like to share a few thoughts.

But you know what impresses me just as much?

These skills will open doors throughout your lives and greatly enhance all the technical skills you have mastered. I would also like to take just a moment to reiterate our thanks to the parents and family members. The support you've provided has been absolutely essential and we truly couldn't do our work without your partnership. Students, would you give your family members another round of applause, please?
I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Murphy and our entire dedicated, amazing tech staff and team. I don't know if there are adequate words to really capture everything that they do on behalf of our students. Tech is truly a gem. A place where caring, career development, and learning come together each and every day, usually with a lot of laughter, sometimes with more than a bit of caffeine, and always with an eye on supporting students. Your expertise, dedication, and unwavering championship of our students deserve special recognition. The difference you make in these young lives is immeasurable and I sincerely thank you.
As I look around this room tonight, I see not just graduates and graduates and certificate and certification recipients, but future leaders, innovators, and community builders. I'm quite confident you will continue to make us all proud. Congratulations once again.
At this point, I would like to introduce Mr. Brad Goodme, Tech Dean of Students.
Tonight, our student speaker representing the PM class of 2026 is a senior from St. Clair High School. She is being certified in the digital media technology program and has been a very dedicated student inside and outside the classroom, participating in many extracurricular activities. She is also St. Clair Tech's National Technical Honor Society PM President. Please welcome to the stage representing the graduating class of 2026, Miss Lily Jean Hack.
Welcome friends, family, and maybe most importantly, the class of 2026. My name is Lily Gene Hack and I'm the honor I'm the National Technical Honor Society PM president and I'm honored to be speaking to you to you all tonight. First, I would like to thank my parents for always supporting my everchanging plans and never doubting any of those plans.
Thank you to all the St. Clair County Tech staff for their continued patience and genuine care in every day to make our days better. Thank you to Miss Frederick and Mrs. Nelson for letting me talk for sometimes two and a half hours straight and allowing my endlessly outlined graphic designs.
Thank you to John and Chad for teaching me how a real production works and invaluable information that I will use forever. And finally, thank you to Mr. Robinson for being the best Nths adviser and counselor and for always flaunting your star. Now to the class of 2026.
We're here today because of our desire to learn more than what the regular school curriculum provides. Two years ago, when we enrolled in Tech, I'm sure most of us had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. I don't know about you guys, but walking through those doors for the first time, I was terrified. The feeling is strange because you know realistically that it's only half your day that's changing, but in reality, it changes your whole life.
It gets under your skin in the best way possible, moving you away from your home school to practically a whole new group of people who you have much more in common with than you might think. Tech is a place where you're able to grow into who you want to be. It allows you to learn the skills that prepare you for whatever is to come in your field.
Throughout these past two years, Tech has allowed each and every one of us to find the love of learning with a newfound passion. Shaping our future with not just technical expertise, but also the willingness to go beyond where we started. Learning how to write a resume, building a portfolio, and even the dreaded practice interviews. All helping to create a plan for where we go next. Personally, I'm using those tools this fall at Western Michigan University to study film, video, and media studies.
Right now, I'm sure next is all you have been thinking about for at least the past few months, if not years. We spend our whole high school thinking about what we're going to do afterwards that we forget to live in what we're doing now. So, I want everyone to think about their past two years at Tech. Look to the friends you've made and the memories you've bonded over. Take in these fleeting moments as high schoolers.
Remember that not every moment has to be about the next. Cherish your laughs, your frustrations, and maybe even your cries. And don't forget that when you move forward to look back and smile at what you did today. The classes are what us students came to Tech for. But we left with so much more. We left with a family.
Thank you, Lily. At this time, I would like to introduce Deb Rochek, assistant director of student services for the presentation of the scholarships. Mrs. Rochek, thank you, Mr. Goodbye, and great job, Lily.
This year, we are so pleased to continue gifting Tech scholarships. Tech scholarships are available to graduating Tech seniors who are in good academic standing. These opportunities are made possible by donations from generous people from the community, including past students, parents, businesses, and organizations that recognize the importance of giving back. We are grateful for the support of the Sinclair County Community Foundation, which accepts these donations and manages the funds to continue our commitment to exceptional students and their futures.
Please join me in congratulating the following students on their outstanding achievements at Sinclair Tech over the last two years. from digital media technology, Miss Lily Gene Hack. And from Health Careers Exploration, Maitlyn Olen Brook, >> is Maitlin coming?
>> Yes.
>> Okay.

Thank you, Mr. Robbins.
Tonight, we gather to celebrate a remarkable group of individuals, the graduating class of 2026 from our career and technical education programs. This isn't just a certification ceremony.
It's a launch, a turning point, a powerful moment where preparation, purpose, and possibility come together.
At the start of the school year, our staff came together with a shared vision. We didn't just talk about teaching. We talked about outcomes. We set a clear goal to lay the foundation for each of you to graduate prepared, confident, and ready for what comes next. whether that's the workforce, college, or beyond. And tonight, we see that foundation come to life. At the heart of everything we do is our mission for every senior to graduate wellprepared and passionate about their career with a plan to transition confidently into the next chapter of their lives. Class of 2026, you are the result of that hard work. You are the outcome we envisioned. Each of you has not only completed the rigorous coursework and hands-on training demanded by our programs, you've gone above and beyond. You've built portfolios that reflect not just what you learned, but who you've become.
You've earned your tech certification.
You've demonstrated your professionalism through employability skills. You've achieved industry level competence through nationally recognized credentials. and you've proven your readiness for the workforce with the work keys readiness certification.
These are not just documents to file away. They are proof. They are opportunity. They are power. Your portfolio sets you apart. It represents the tech advantage. A foundation built through hard work, guidance, and commitment. It tells the world that you are ready. Some of you will head straight into the workforce, tools in hand, ready to build, create, heal, and serve. Some of you will continue your journey through apprenticeship or college, refining your skills even further. And some of you will take bold steps into entrepreneur entrepreneurship, turning ideas into reality. Wherever your path leads you, you're not starting from scratch. You are building from a strong foundation that was once intentionally designed, carefully built, and strengthened by your effort and dedication by those around you. As you move forward, remember this. Your success is not just measured by what you've earned, but who you've become.
You are leaders. You are problem solvers. You're ready.
We hope to hear stories from you one year from now, five years down the road, even 10 years, because the journey matters to us long after tonight. On behalf of all of us at Tech, we are incredibly proud of you and all that you have accomplished. We wish you the very best and everything ahead.
Finally, I'd like to thank Mrs. Roshack and the student services team for their hard work in putting together this program this evening. With program instructors, prayer professionals, workbased learning coordinators, student services staff stand up. Let's recognize their dedication and the role they played in laying the foundation for our student success.
This concludes our program for the evening. Please join us in the comments so that we can greet you. Thank you for being here to celebrate this important milestone and enjoy the rest of your evening.
Did I miss it?
>> No, you got it.
>> Forgot to take out my line in the second one. So, >> I thought that was going to push you out of the way when you speech like, "All right, I'm ready. Quiet.
