Karmelo Anthony Guilty Verdict Triggers Social Media MeltdownAjouté :
So, Carmelo Anthony was found guilty of first-degree murder and the black community is melting down online.
>> Yeah.
>> Watch this.
>> So, the verdict is in for Carmelo Anthony and they just found him guilty and I'm going to tell you right now that I'm not surprised. I knew that they was going to find him guilty. I am not surprised at all. But, um, another young black man life is being flushed down the toilet just for defending himself.
>> Defending himself from a shove, being told to leave. That's that's self-defense. That's justifiable force to use. We're late.
>> This is what I mean when I say being black in America. And it's okay for for them to dehumanize us, for them to demean us. And it is even okay for them to harm us.
>> He was never harmed. He'll have a scratch on him.
>> The only person who was dehumanized and is still being dehumanized is Austin Metaf.
>> Yeah. His life mattered, too.
>> So Carmelo Anthony was found guilty on firstdegree murder. And my heart really just not only goes out to Austin Metcast family, but also Carmelo because this one situation has changed his life forever. You know, I was talking to my mom about it and I'm just like, damn.
What if he just would have threw a hit?
What if he just would have said, you know what, I'm going to beat you.
>> He could have just walked away.
>> Yeah, that's all they wanted. You don't belong under this tent. Leave. It's funny. His life has changed forever. How about his twin brother and his father?
Yeah, >> I mean, I'm just I'm shocked >> that it was on first-degree murder versus manslaughter.
>> Manslaughter is like when you get into a fight with somebody, you punch them and they go on the ground and bash their head on some cement and it that kills them.
>> It's accidental death.
>> Yeah. What what what makes it an accident when you take a knife out consciously and stab somebody in the center of the chest where their heart is? How is that?
>> It's not an accident.
>> Yeah, he meant to do it. Stop using your brain stem. Use what frontal lobe you do got.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Cuz to say he was the aggressor or to say that this was with intention or whatever the case may be is very crazy to me. But >> that's crazy.
>> He is guilty.
>> Yep. They so they came out with a verdict like a little before 3:00. So 2 hours and 40ome minutes. Mind you, this is in Texas.
>> I'm looking at this mug shot of this black child.
My black child. Your black child. My black son. Your black son.
>> And it took them three hours.
>> Two sentence. This >> 3 hours is way too long. It would have took me 30 seconds. And you know what's crazy? It has nothing to do with his skin color. Has nothing to do about race. Y >> the dude's a murderer. Yeah. Black. My black son, your black son. It has nothing to do with skin color.
>> Yeah. She only cares because he's black.
>> Yeah. If if these two kids was black, they wouldn't even be talking about it.
>> Yep.
>> Now 19year-old child to murder. They are going to throw away the rest of his baby's life.
>> 19 is not a child and nobody's throwing his life away. The white jury is not throwing his life away. Carmelo's actions is what caused him to throw his own life away.
>> Yeah. He threw Austin Metav's life away.
So now the juries have decided we're going to throw your life away.
>> That's how it works.
>> For a stupid thing that he did at 18.
>> You know what? Uh I hate how these people are downplaying what he did. A stupid thing.
>> Mhm.
>> It wasn't just a stupid thing. It was murder. We are I watched it with my daughter because I need her to understand that this is what the justice system looks like for our black children.
>> This is >> This is insane. If the if the >> like black women, what's wrong with y'all?
>> Hey, Y'ALL Y'ALL DON'T GOT IT UPSTAIRS.
>> YEAH. If the roles were reversed, Austin Metaf would be going to jail.
>> Yeah.
>> It has nothing to do with race. why it's so important that as parents we do what we have to do in the house. This is now a 19-year-old man whose parents won't be grandparents. He'll never be a husband.
He'll never be a father. It is just a mind to me that you could do something in a split second as a teenager and it cost you the rest of your life. This kid is facing 99 years.
>> Good. And you know what? Austin Metaf, he would never be a father. He would never have kids.
>> Yeah, it's like you only care about the black kid. I wonder why. Maybe because you're a racist.
>> I'm not by any means saying that Austin Mech deserved his eye. Absolutely not.
What I am saying is I was a teenager and I did a bunch of dumb dumb that the only reason why I'm not under the jail or dead is because I had angels watching me. So to think that this young man made this decision and now this mom is going home to never see her son again of the free world just blows my mind.
My heart breaks. I don't know what justice looks like.
But I have to tell you that in my heart this is not it.
>> Yeah. She is actually crying for a murderer. That is wild.
>> My heart breaks. I see my son in this scared kid.
>> This is justice.
>> He was not scared. He was brazen. He pulled out a knife and plunged in somebody's chest.
>> A scared person takes off running.
>> Yeah. And the pain that you're feeling, I don't know if it's how genuine it is, but just imagine the pain of Austin Metaf's twin brother, his father.
>> Yeah. his family, everybody that loved him.
>> This is what justice looks like when you're black and brown.
>> Wow. Wow. You >> hours >> to decide that you are such a detriment to society at 17 that there's no redemption for you.
>> Hey, I could I could not imagine being 17 years old, 18 years old in high school, senior in high school. I get in a fight with someone. Yeah.
>> Or somebody just puts their hands on me tell telling me to leave. I pull out a knife and slam it into that chest. I would that thought would have never crossed my mind.
>> That's a great point because how evil and demented Carmelo Anthony is to even even having the wherewithal to commit an act such as that. That's just pure evil that there's no redemption for you.
You meant to you woke up that morning with the intent to kill somebody.
You decided that in 3 hours.
>> That's not what they decided. What they decided was >> his use of force that knife was not justified. Yeah. He he overreacted.
>> Camela Anthony was just found guilty in the trial. And and y'all already know what I'm talking about. And I just knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. And I got a filter on cuz I look a mess. I'm not surprised. I knew he was going to be found guilty. Of course, he's a young black man who unalived a white, not even a man, a young black boy who unalived a white boy. A bully with a twin brother for a bully as well. But on top of that, the family of Austin Metclaf Metaf, whatever your name is, young man, they are friends with the judge.
>> I knew this was going to happen. My stuff.
>> Why do they continue to lie and just spread all this misinformation? Like they were saying there was a video that shows that they a bunch of people jumped Carmelo that day.
>> Yeah.
>> Now she's saying that the judge is friends with the Metaf family. I mean why why are they lying like this?
>> Yeah. It doesn't make it even if that's true which is not but even if that's true the judge is not the jury.
>> Let me make her like I like I knew this like I like I knew like I know Carmelo like I just knew this was going to happen. The streets is about to be jumping. Let me tell y'all something.
They done they done Listen, I don't know nothing. I don't know nobody. I don't know nothing. All I got to say is it's about to go down.
>> So, what's that man name? Mr. Child, he gets off. He gets off with unliv.
But Carmelo Anthony gets chased and defends himself against bullies. And he is found guilty. I knew it.
>> Huh? They was chasing after Carmelo.
>> Why would they chase him?
>> The cops were chasing him. Yeah. Nobody was chasing him. He ran because what he did was wrong and he knew it was wrong.
That's why he tried to hide the murder weapon. If he was being chased by the uh Metaf brothers, why would they chase him? That's all they wanted was for him to leave the tent. Why would they chase him? That never happened.
>> Yeah. I think these people either hearing voices or they're just so blatantly racist. They're not even attempting to figure out and what really happened and trying to stay remain objective. All they see is skin color.
Yeah. And they say black people can't be racist.
>> Yeah. Y'all actually think it's okay for a black kid because he's black to stab a kid because he's white. That is insane.
