Our Pokemon Card Business Landed Distribution!

[00:00:02]So, no, I am not click baiting you.

[00:00:04]Today, we have been approved for distribution and uh wow, I I have to say like I I'm very very honored. Um I'm humbled by the by the opportunity given in front of us and uh you know, moving forward kind of where I see my business changing or not changing and maybe answer some of the most commonly uh asked questions. But this is not like how to get DRO kind of video. It's really just a celebratory video and uh man, I'm really happy. I'm really excited. Now, to answer probably your question right now is DJ, are you about to get Pokemon? No, I would not be getting Pokemon anytime soon. And that's perfectly fine. Uh you know, I I got to I got to earn my keep, so to speak, and I'm totally cool with that. I I totally understand that. Hey, man. Uh I'm just honored to even have an account. So, the next question you're you're probably wondering is who's it with? Um, I don't want to say who it's with right now because I want to be careful with that.

[00:00:59]I'm not sure how happy or sad they would be with that. I know a lot of people don't say who they're with. There are certain people who say they're with. Um, but it, you know, it's probably not that hard to figure out in the long term, but I'm so excited. I don't know. Um, it's kind of hard to talk. We we just got approved and um, I set up my account and, you know, we we looked into or not we. When I say we, it's just me, right?

[00:01:22]I I looked at the website a little bit and uh placed my first order. So, you know, something moving forward for the business. Again, u I'm trying to think about, you know, after talking to my rep as well, you know, it's not about just buying a bunch of things that I don't need, you know? Um I mean, you can do those things to get your spend up or whatever, but like how can we how can I buy things that could potentially help the business um and maybe even expand DJ's Poké Center in like a different way, right? So, I'm trying to think of it like in that way instead of just buying like a thousand of this thing or or 5,000 of this thing just to get spend up just for the sake of getting spend up and losing a bunch of money and something like that's not really a good decision at the moment, I think, to start off after talking to my rep. So, they're like, "Hey, I mean, you can go that route, but is that really beneficial to you?" It's probably not, right? We're not trying to sell you a bunch of random stuff. I mean, what would be a better idea? Is is there something that you could branch out in?

[00:02:18]Like obviously I'm DJ's Poké Center.

[00:02:20]Hello. Look at all the Pokemon. You know, I've tried uh Magic and you know, things like that. Um just full disclosure, I would not be able to get any TCGs. So if if that was your question, um you know, we will not be able to get TCGs, but is there something else I can get? Is there a toy that I can get? And so I looked through the website, right? And there's other things that I can get that are Pokemon related, but also I'm looking at things that aren't Pokémon related. You know, is there something else that I could buy?

[00:02:46]Um, and and so I don't have all the answers for you on this or anything.

[00:02:49]This is just kind of where my mind is is like, how could I use this to the best of the ability? Um, I did purchase a bunch of like these uh top loaders, so that's really cool. And hey, you know what? I think people will like that.

[00:03:02]Doesn't really matter what you're into.

[00:03:04]Sports people like that myself like that. And I and I get it. They're out there in in abundance. But, you know, I think I could be able to bundle that somehow in certain things. Maybe you buy an ETB and you also want to buy some top loaders for like I think it'd be I don't know $4 or or something like that for you. So, it's not like a big ask or anything. That's not like a guaranteed price. I'm just naming a random example.

[00:03:26]And then I've looked at things like binders. And then, you know, there's a bunch of different types of binders.

[00:03:31]There's uh perfect order binders, which I don't think people would necessarily Well, I'm sure I could probably sell a couple, but like there's other binders that are offered like Charizard, right?

[00:03:40]I think something like that is very beneficial to the store overall. Now, is every person who wants a ETB going to want a binder from Charizard? Probably not, but somebody out there will want a Charizard. And uh, you know, I found some other They're like Lego things. I forget the name off the top of my head, but they're also Pokemon characters, right? So, I get it. You know, maybe out of 100 people, only three of them are interested in that. But, it is something that could still benefit my spend, but also benefit the store overall. And you never know, man. You never know out there who who wants like a little trinket of Pokémon. Uh, you know, I collect things like this, which was, to be fair, that was 3D printed. Um, they're not going to have anything 3D printed, but you know, you never know.

[00:04:20]Maybe you'll want like a Mewtwo or you want like a Charizard toy. I would love to hear from all of you. For the people that does apply to, people who buy other things besides like just the actual Pokemon cards, feel free, reach out, let me know. Um, maybe there's something you're interested in. But again, it wouldn't be Pokemon cards. it wouldn't be, you know, ETBs, booster box, stuff like that. Like, we can pretty much just say, um, that just wouldn't apply to this conversation right now. But, I don't know, you know, I've I've had one person reach out to me and say they're looking for like a particular coloring book. So, I'm like, "Oh, yeah. I'll keep my eye on that." You know what I mean?

[00:04:53]For Magic the Gathering, if I can find a coloring book, they would love to buy that. So, that is obviously very mutually beneficial for us, um, for me and the person because, hey, I don't mind selling it to you. You know, make 5% or something. um building the spend and building that relationship with with DRO, but also helping somebody else out.

[00:05:12]Maybe I can get it for them a little bit less than they can get it somewhere else. And I think that's really interesting and really cool. So, that's definitely something I'm looking at just looking at all the options. Um, you know, is there a market that I can find that again isn't Pokemon cards and kind of dive into that a little bit. So, if any of you have the answer for me, uh, absolutely. and and so I'll definitely be testing some things. So, you'll start seeing not probably like too soon, I'm not sure because this is literally my first time and in and first experience, but I'll start experimenting with certain things, you know. Um I know they sell other things that may or may not be in stock. Um you know, like the extras for cards and uh things that protect cards and and stuff like that. And and again, I get it. You know, out of 100 people, maybe only three to five people will want it, but I could still try to apply to those three to five people. You know what I mean? So, there's definitely a market for that kind of stuff. Um, this is crazy. Like, I I did not think this day was happening anytime soon.

It means a lot to me that you would uh even talk to your you know who you had to talk to and um reach your neck out for me and and say you know vouch for DJ and say that like I'm a good business and I do good business and uh you know it's it's a lot man. There's a lot of long nights where I'm packing again till sometimes 1:00 a.m. You know uh I don't know how many people who have ever ordered from me watching this video. If it's you, please type in 22 so I just know it's you that have ever got like a really late at night email on like a weekday like 10 o'clock or 11 or sometimes even midnight and it says like your orders being prepared. It's cuz I stayed up that late. So, you know, we definitely put the time in, we put the work in and um man, really excited, really happy, really honored. I just didn't think this day would come. Um I I mean I figured maybe one day in like the bear run or something. So again, are we going to get Pokemon? No. And that's fine. And that's okay. And I don't deserve Pokemon. Um, but I'm willing to put the work in. And uh, hey, again, just just trying to branch out of like other avenues. And, you know, I can't blame anybody else for my situation, right? Like I have to figure out new ways to become profitable in different areas. That's that will not change our overall business. Uh, Pokemon will, you know, I'll still be buying collections of Pokemon. I just got in a bunch of prismatic evolution today, so I have to pay that person. If that's you, by the way, can you message me? I can't I can't find you on Instagram or Discord.
